Idrija - Koča na Hleviški planini (hunting path)

Access to starting point:
A) First, we drive to Logatec, and then we continue driving towards Idrija. When we get to Idrija, we need to pay attention, because at the main crossroad we will leave the main road which leads towards Tolmin and we will turn left towards the center of the town. We can park to the left of the main bus station, or in the parking lot above the bus station – above the Spar store.
B) From Most na Soči or Podbrdo we drive to Bača pri Modreju, and then we continue driving towards Idrija. When we get to Idrija, we need to pay attention, because at the main crossroad we will leave the main road which leads towards Logatec and we will turn right towards the center of the town. We can park to the left of the main bus station, or in the parking lot above the bus station – above the Spar store.

Route description:
From the bus stop, we pass the Spar store through the center of Idrija. At the first crossroad, we keep to the right over Mestni trg and arrive at the bridge over the stream Nikova, below the castle Geverkeneeg. The path leads us over the bridge, and after 20 meters, we turn right uphill. Soon we reach the chapel and again keep to the right, along a steep road. After 200 meters, we reach the road Idrija – Vojsko, which we cross, and a steep narrower road lies ahead, on which we quickly ascend above Idrija. At the last houses of Čopičeva street (water catchment), a beautiful view opens up on the town center. The asphalt road then turns into a cart track, along which we ascend to a forest road. We are at Pringlu (small chapel), where there is a junction of several paths: the left one leads over Pšenk to Hleviše, but we go right, where two marked SPP paths head towards Hleviše. After just a few meters, we notice signposts above the road and turn left uphill onto the hunting path. The path starts steeply through the forest but soon levels out. When we reach a sharp turn, we take the footpath to the left, and after a few minutes, we arrive at a forest logging trail, which leads us to a junction of several cart tracks. Here we continue right along the forest logging trail, which rises moderately through the forest. At the wooden bench, the logging trail ends, and we continue along a footpath to an indistinct ridge. Here we turn right; the path becomes very steep, but we soon reach the turning point of a forest road, where we turn right. After a few hundred meters, we reach a bend in the macadam road, where we keep to the right and soon arrive at the parking lot below the hut on Hleviška planina (here, from the right, the marked path over Kodrov rovt joins). The path leads us uphill along the road, which is closed to public traffic. The road soon takes us through the forest to a meadow below the mountain hut, where there are playgrounds for younger visitors on the left side.
From the hut, we can continue along a steep footpath to the top of Hleviška planina, and after 10 minutes, we reach the peak (908 meters).
