Access to starting point:
We drive to Kamnik and follow the road ahead towards the valley of Kamniška Bistrica. We park on a large parking lot at the bottom station of the cable car to Velika planina. Then we take the cable car to the upper station, which is the starting point for our tour.
Route description:
When we step out of the cable car, the path brings us to Hotel Šimnovec after a few dozen steps, in front of which we notice numerous mountaineering signposts. We continue along the transport-rescue road in the direction of Zeleni rob. The road we walk on first ascends gently, then moderately ascends along and beside the ski track. After approximately 30 minutes of walking, the path brings us to the inn Zeleni rob.
Just a few meters before the inn, the transport-rescue road turns right and after a short ascent brings us to the intermediate station of the chairlift. From here we continue the ascent on the ski track, which steeply ascends for a short time and quickly brings us to the upper station of the chairlift. Here we already see the peak in front of us, which we reach after a further 2 minutes of walking.
