Hotel Šimnovec - Domžalski dom na Mali planini (via Gradišče)

Access to starting point:
We drive to Kamnik and follow the road ahead towards the valley of Kamniška Bistrica. We park on a large parking lot at the bottom station of the cable car to Velika Planina. Further, we take the cable car to the upper station, which is the starting point for our tour.

Route description:
When we step out of the cable car, the path brings us to the Hotel Šimnovec after a few dozen steps, in front of which we notice numerous hiking signposts. We continue along the transport-rescue road in the direction of Zeleni rob. The road on which we walk first gently ascends, then moderately, along and beside the ski track. After approximately 30 minutes of walking, the path brings us to the inn Zeleni rob.

Only a few meters before the inn, the transport-rescue road turns right and, after a short ascent, brings us to the intermediate station of the chairlift. From here we continue the ascent on the ski track, which steeply ascends for a short time and quickly brings us to the upper station of the chairlift. Here in front of us we already see the summit, which we reach after another 2 minutes of walking.
From Gradišče we continue slightly right on the path in the direction of the shepherd settlement on Velika Planina. A poorly visible but marked path past the Gradiščkovi shepherd settlement quickly brings us to a wide path, which we follow to the right. After a few minutes of additional walking we come to a junction, where we continue left downwards in the direction of Domžalski dom. After a short descent, the path brings us into a smaller valley, from which we ascend to the visible Domžalski dom.
