Grčarevec - Roman fortress (Lanišče) (past viewpoint)

Access to starting point:
We drive to Logatec, and then follow the old road in the direction of Postojna. When we arrive in Grčarevec, we will notice tourist information boards and parking lot signs on the right side of the road by the bus stop, where we park.

Route description:
From the parking lot by the bus stop, we continue a few dozen meters along the main road in the direction of Postojna. At some houses, we turn slightly right onto a marked access path that leads us past the houses, and a little further, we join an asphalt road that leads through the hamlet. We follow the road to the right, when the dense part of the hamlet ends, we go at the left turn slightly right onto a marked footpath that starts ascending through the forest, and at a few crossings, we follow the quite overgrown footpath in the direction of the blazes. Higher, we reach the macadam road, which we follow to the right for a few steps, then go right from it onto a cart track, along which we continue for a few minutes, and then return to the macadam road, which we follow to the right in the direction of the viewpoint. The path ahead leads us for quite some time along the macadam road, which mostly ascends diagonally and higher up brings us to a turning point, and behind it quickly to a smaller crossing.
We continue slightly left in the direction of the viewpoint (slightly right, the lower unmarked road towards Lanišče) and then ascend diagonally for some time, and higher up the road flattens; a little further, we go slightly left from the road onto a footpath in the direction of the viewpoint. Only a short ascent through the forest follows, and we arrive at the viewpoint, from which a beautiful view opens up.
We bypass the viewpoint on the left side and ascend through the forest for a short time, then descend back to the forest road. We follow the road to the left for only a short time, then blazes guide us right onto a footpath that continues mostly through the forest and gradually descends. A little further, we veer slightly right from a marked crossing (left Stara pošta and Hrušica), then cross the route of a high-voltage power line and quickly arrive at the fortress Lanišče.
