Gaberl Straße (Grabenkehre) - Gaberlhaus (on old road)

Access to starting point:
Highway A2 Klagenfurt am Wörthersee - Graz we leave at the Packsattel exit (from the direction of Graz we take the Mooskirchen exit), and then we follow the road towards the town of Köflach and further towards Judenburg and the Gaberl ski slope. Further, we ascend to the right hairpin turn at an altitude of 1320 meters, where on the left side of the road is a small marked parking lot.

Route description:
From the parking lot, we continue on an ascending asphalt road which we follow to the road sign 29.6 km. Immediately after the mentioned sign, we turn left onto a side road which, after passing through a strip of forest, leads to grazing slopes, over which we ascend with beautiful views along an old road overgrown with grass. Higher up at a small crossing, we continue straight; when the road turns left, a marked path from the starting point in the settlement Salla joins from the right. This is followed by some more diagonal ascent, partly through the forest, and then we reach a large parking lot by the ski slope Gaberl. Here we turn right, where we carefully cross the road and arrive at the cottage Gaberlhaus.
