Access to starting point:
From Tolmin or Bovec we drive to Kobarid, from there we follow the road in the direction of Drežnica (the turn-off is from the Kobarid bypass). We continue across the bridge over the Soča River and immediately after the bridge we turn left in the direction of Drežnica. In Drežnica we come to a crossroad, where the road to the village Magozd branches off to the left, and we continue a little further to the next crossroad, where we turn left in the direction of Drežniške Ravne. The road then brings us to a crossroad in Drežniške Ravne, where we turn right upward in the direction of Krasji vrh. At the next crossroad we turn right again and follow the road to a water trough, where the asphalt ends. Here is a small parking lot, where we park.
Route description:
From the parking lot, we continue on a worse macadam road, which ascends partly through the forest and partly over grassy slopes. The road, which makes quite a few turns, brings us after a good hour of walking to the mountain pasture Zapleč, where we notice a sign for TNP. The road ahead runs almost horizontally across pastures with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The worse road then brings us to a crossroad, where we head left towards the cottages on the mountain pasture Zaprikraj, which we reach after a few steps of additional walking.

Discussion about the trip Drežniške Ravne - Planina Zaprikraj (by road)

I'm interested, does anyone know where the Italian battle line's shooting trenches are located on Planina Zaprikraj, I'm planning to go up on Thursday, lp

The open-air museum with an information board is along the gravel road between the pastures Zaprikraj and Predolina. This is the road by which you ascend from Drežniške Ravne to the pastures Zapleč and Zaprikraj and then mainly flat towards Predolina. I don't remember exactly how long we walked to the museum, but it seemed strange to me that it's called the Zaprikraj museum, because it's closer to the Predolina pasture. Have a nice day!

tomorrow I'd go up there but I don't know how much time I'd need to the top and back to return by 15 to lj because I have a meeting

In the description above it says a good hour to Planina Zaprikraj, add another half hour, plus time to see the open-air museum and return. If you have an SUV, you can also drive from the described starting point at the water trough to Planina Zapleč and then walk to the shooting trenches. As you see in the 5th photo, it's possible even with a regular car but you won't like it mrk pogled
