Dom v Gorah - Koča na Kopitniku

Access to starting point:
a) We drive to Celje, and then follow the signs for Laško and Zidani Most. At the beginning of the settlement Rimske Toplice, we turn right towards Hrastnik; when we reach the settlement Marno, we turn left towards the settlement Turje, the cottage Dom v Gorah, and the cottage Planinska koča na Kopitniku. Above the settlement Turje, we follow the signs for Gore, or the cottage Dom v Gorah. We park in the parking lot by the cottage Dom v Gorah.
b) From Sevnica, we drive towards Celje; at the end of the settlement Rimske Toplice, we turn left towards Hrastnik; when we reach the settlement Marno, we turn left towards the settlement Turje, the cottage Dom v Gorah, and the cottage Planinska koča na Kopitniku. Above the settlement Turje, we follow the signs for Gore, or the cottage Dom v Gorah. We park in the parking lot by the cottage Dom v Gorah.
c) We drive to Hrastnik, and then follow the signs for Celje, Laško, and Rimske Toplice. In the settlement Marno, we turn right towards the settlement Turje, the cottage Dom v Gorah, and the cottage Planinska koča na Kopitniku. Above the settlement Turje, we follow the signs for Gore, or the cottage Dom v Gorah. We park in the parking lot by the cottage Dom v Gorah.

Route description:
At Dom v Gorah, signs for Kopitnik direct us to the road on which we arrived at the starting point, and we descend along it for a few minutes, then the road flattens and leads us to a marked junction in the forest, where we leave the road and continue slightly to the right towards Kopitnik. Only a few dozen strides ahead, we cross the road leading to Koča na Kopitniku, and we continue on a footpath that cuts two bends via a marked shortcut. Higher up, we return to the road and continue with a mostly moderate ascent. At the point where a path branches off to the right towards Širje and Zidani Most, a beautiful view opens up towards Kum, and we continue for a short time on the marked asphalt road, then above the turn-off for Fračji dol, we turn left onto a macadam road, and a few steps further, slightly to the left onto a marked path that leads us across a scenic meadow, offering a beautiful view to the north. We continue along a cart track that returns to the forest, where at a concrete spring, where a chapel once stood, a path branches off to the left downwards, the NOB path, leading towards Marno, but we continue straight, passing a solitary house, and behind it, we proceed straight along a marked cart track. A little further, we reach a macadam road, and at several consecutive crossroads, we follow the signs for Koča na Kopitniku. A few minutes later, we briefly leave the road, and upon returning to it, we walk in a gentle descent to Koča na Kopitniku.
