Dom pod Storžičem - Planina Javornik

Access to starting point:
From the Ljubljana - Jesenice highway, take the Ljubelj exit. From this road, before the gas station, turn right towards Tržič. Follow the road ahead through Tržič and on the other side of Tržič turn right towards Lom pod Storžičem. Follow this road ahead towards the signs for Dom pod Storžičem. Park on the parking lot a few meters before the mountain hut.

Route description:
From the parking lot near the Dom pod Storžičem mountain hut, continue on the left road in the direction of Javorniško sedlo saddle, mountain pasture Javornik, Jezersko, Pavšel, Tič, Tržič and NOB monument. Already after a few meters of walking, the road splits into two parts, and we choose the upper right road (left to Tič and NOB monument). We continue on the mentioned road, which after approximately 20 minutes of walking changes into a cart track. At the spot where the road changes into a cart track, we have two options to continue. We can continue the ascent on a steep and quite overgrown footpath, or on a slightly less steep cart track, which is not marked but orientationally even a little easier than the marked footpath. The cart track and footpath join higher up and bring us to Javorniški preval saddle, where there is a marked junction.
Here we continue left (right Kanonir, sharply right Storžič), where after a few dozen steps we arrive at the next junction. The right path leads towards Močnikovo sedlo saddle, and we continue on the left path in the direction of mountain pasture Javornik. The path ahead continues on a wide and gentle cart track, which for some time crosses the slopes towards the northwest. After a few minutes, the forest thins out and an increasingly panoramic path brings us to mountain pasture Javornik, from which a beautiful view opens up.
