Doklece - Ptujska Gora

Access to starting point:
A) We leave the Štajerska motorway at the exit Slovenska Bistrica - south, and then follow the road towards Poljčane, from there towards Makole, Majšperk and Ptuj. At the end of Majšperk at the roundabout we take the exit in the direction of Žetale and Jurovci. At the larger crossroads we then turn sharply left in the direction of Jurovci and Podlehnik (straight ahead - Žetale). We continue on the main road to the settlement Doklece, where at the road sign 4.5 km the described path begins. At the starting point there are no designated parking spaces.
B) We leave the Podravska motorway at the exit Lancova vas, and then follow the signs for Podlehnik and Jurovci. At the end of the settlement Tržec we turn from the roundabout right towards Jurovci and then continue driving towards Majšperk. When we arrive in Doklece we will first notice the hiking signposts, where we can already park in a suitable spot, otherwise we drive a little further to the road sign 4.5 km, where the described path begins. At the starting point there are no designated parking spaces.

Route description:
A few steps east of the road sign 4.5 km, on the northern side of the road, a marked path branches off, which bypasses the bee house on the right side, then ascends briefly along the edge of the forest. A little further the marks direct us left into the forest, through which we ascend diagonally to the right; when we leave the forest near a residential house we reach an asphalt road, along which we continue through the settlement.
The settlement Doklece ends after a few minutes, and the path ahead leads us through the forest and mostly continues gently to moderately ascending. Higher up we arrive at a marked crossroads, from which we continue left in the direction of the basilica, Majšperk, Jelovice and Donačka gora (right - Lovrenc na Dravskem polju).
After the crossroads there is some descent, and from the path a nice view opens towards both churches on Ptujska Gora. After a short descent we reach the settlement Ptujska Gora, from the crossroads behind the chapel we go slightly right, where we quickly arrive at the cemetery and the church of St. Lenart. Behind the cemetery we reach the parking lot, behind it at the smaller crossroads we go left. There follow another 10 or so steps of walking and at the shrine we leave the road and ascend the stairs to the basilica on Ptujska Gora, from where a beautiful view opens up.
