Access to starting point:
From the highway Ljubljana - Celje we take the exit Šempeter and follow the road ahead in the direction of Polzela. In Polzela signs for Gora Oljka direct us to the right. The road then brings us to the village Podvin pri Polzeli, where we notice the next sign for Gora Oljka. Here we turn right upwards and follow the road to the crossroads by the signposts for Gora Oljka. We park at a suitable place nearby; parking is prohibited at the crossroads.
Route description:
From the parking lot we head onto the road in the direction of Gora Oljka. The asphalted road takes us past the chapel out of the forest onto panoramic slopes. After a good 15 minutes of walking, the path brings us to the inn Jug, where there is a registration box. A little further ahead we leave the road and head left upwards on a marked footpath, which ascends moderately through the forest. After a short ascent we come to a worse road, which we follow to the left and leave it after 30 metres. We continue right upwards on the path, which ascends quite steeply. Soon the steepness eases and the path brings us to the next chapel, where we continue right to a junction. At the junction, where Martinova pot joins, we continue left and follow the path to the top, which we reach after five minutes of additional walking.
Along the route: Gostišče Jug (530m)

We climbed to Gora Oljka via the path described here on Sunday, but we extended the trip by choosing Polzelo as the starting point and ascended to Dobrič via Vimperk. You can find a more detailed description of our path here.

On Sunday we went as a family to Gora Oljka - descent by road on crowded days I advise against, because you'll eat quite a bit of dust. Description of our experience is here.
