Access to starting point:
From the direction of Ptuj, drive towards the Gruškovje border crossing. Immediately after the Croatian crossing, turn right towards Trakošćan. After a few kilometers driving through the forest, arrive at Trakošćan castle. At the intersection by the Hotel, turn left towards Cvetlin. Drive about 2 km. At the intersection in the village, where there is a sign for Ptuj and Maribor, turn right and park at the inn.
Route description:
At the mentioned inn, we park and refresh ourselves if necessary, then proceed along the asphalt path towards Ravna Gora. When we reach a small parking area on the left side of the road, just before the last farm, we turn right uphill along a narrow cart track. After a while, the cart track turns into a narrow path. We ascend through grassy slopes. After a while, we arrive at a small wooden house, where the path from Trakošćan castle joins. We turn left and follow the markers all the way to the summit.
Since Ravna Gora is just a stone's throw from the border, the summit offers a beautiful view of Slovenia and Croatia.

The described path is called Put iz Cvetlina preko Kotarščakov. From the northwest side, that path is also the easiest path. If from the Kotarščak sign at the Digula farm you turned downhill to Trakošćan and followed the marks, you would reach the Prebukovje path which steeply goes up over rocks to Filićev dom (Kotarščak ends at dom Pusti Duh) From Cvetlin you can also go along asphalt towards the last Švec farm (house number 167) and then along a forest track steeply up to dom Pusti Duh. From the Švec farm one variant leads slightly downhill to a very demanding climbing path through the rocks of Velike Pečine (That path is not marked at the beginning, best to ask at the farm). The problem is at the beginning of the climbing where the pegs are placed a bit sparsely.

Where is the real highest peak of Ravna Gora? It was thought that the highest peak is the one between the two huts where there is also the viewpoint pyramid and that it is 680 meters high. Then, around 2005, they measured on the northern hill that this peak is 686 meters high and for a while it was thought that this peak (above the village of Višnjica) is the highest peak of Ravna Gora. Even now, the paths to that peak are marked as the path to the peak of Ravna Gora. Finally, they measured again the peak that is between the two huts where the viewpoint pyramid is. 680 is the height of the Three Kings church, the pyramid and the rock further south have heights between 690 and 694 meters, so this peak is indeed the true highest peak of Ravna Gora.

According to DTK map, the highest peak is where the viewpoint tower stands.
