Access to starting point:
From Logatec we drive towards Idrija or vice versa. In the village Godovič we turn left (from Logatec side, from Idrija right) in the direction of Črni Vrh and Col. We follow this road to the beginning of the village Črni Vrh, where we turn left towards the ski slope in the village. Further, we drive past the ski slope to the farm Grom near which we notice a parking lot and mountain signposts for Javornik.
From Primorska side we drive to Ajdovščina from where we continue towards Col and Črni Vrh. At the end of the village Črni Vrh we turn right towards the ski slope in the village. Further, follow the above description.
Route description:
Near the parking lot, we notice signposts for Javornik, which direct us to the path that initially ascends gently through the forest. The path at the beginning leads along a cart track that has quite a few junctions. Soon we walk on a fairly steep trail that higher up crosses or ascends for some time along one of the cart tracks. Because the path is well marked, there are no problems with orientation. A little higher, the path brings us to a forest road, which we only cross. We continue the ascent on a wide and relatively steep cart track in the direction of Javornik. We follow this diagonally ascending cart track all the way to the Pirnatova koča on Javornik.
From the hut we continue right across the meadow upwards in the direction of the tower on Javornik. After a few dozen meters of walking, the path enters the forest, where it ascends moderately. When we emerge from the forest, we cross a short panoramic slope, then just a little below the summit the path re-enters the forest. A gentle ascent follows through the forest to the summit, where we notice the lookout tower. If we wish for a view, we climb to the top of the tower at our own risk, from which a nice view opens up.

After crossing the forest road, the markers somewhat disappear, especially now that they have cut down some trees, but it's almost impossible to get lost. I was at the top of the tower in a bora wind of at least 100 km/h, and although it swayed at least 20cm sideways, the thing held up!

A while ago I wanted to go up this path and, unfortunately, couldn't find the starting point. Past the ski lift there was no Grom farm anywhere, nor signs for the start. The parking is right below the ski lift, but I didn't know if it was the right one. The homeowner in the last house also didn't know where the path starts, nor where the farm is... So I started the path from nearby Lom...

The tower at the summit is no longer intact and is closed. A new structure is needed.

I see hikers who are here for the first time have quite some trouble finding this Grom starting point. Maybe it would be smart to put up a sign right up the path from the ecological island, so it's known this is Javornik direction past Grom. As far as I know the sign is only at the last house (pic no.1) up on one beech (pic no.2). Obligatory to eat ocvirkovca in the hut

From the road in Črni Vrh to the signpost for Javornik, there's a quite long gravel road (about 2 km), so you think you've already gone astray. When you reach the white house, whose photo is posted, just a few meters further on, from the right side of the road, there's the signpost for Javornik. Once you're on the trail to the summit, no more dilemmas. Good luck
