Access to starting point:
From the highway Ljubljana - Jesenice, at the Podtabor junction we continue in the direction of Ljubelj and Tržič. We continue driving on initially fast, then regional road in the direction of Ljubelj. At the last left turn on the Slovenian side, which is located approximately 500 meters behind the concentration camp, we turn right onto a macadam road, which we follow a little less than 100 meters to a somewhat larger macadam parking lot.
Route description:
From the parking lot, we continue on a cart track, until our path turns sharply right in the forest. Next follows a steeper ascent in numerous zig-zags. We soon get to a panoramic bench, from where a view is opening up on peaks above Zelenica. From here for a short time through a dense plantation of young spruces to the mountain pasture, which is closed by a wooden fence. Now the ascent ends, we walk almost horizontal below the ridge of Grunt (1627 meters). In front of us is rising western side of Košutica. After a few turns and light ascents follows a shorter descent. When we come to a crossing, we turn left (signpost Koča na Ljubelju; on the right path we soon reach the mountain pasture Korošica). From there steeper on a cart track to the border ridge, where from the left joins the footpath from old Ljubelj. We turn right and we continue steeper on the ridge overgrown with dwarf pines. We soon reach the next crossing, where a signpost points us left towards the saddle Dovjakovo sedlo. When we cross the border (grazing) fence, we continue almost horizontal below the northern walls of Ljubeljska Baba. When we bypass a bigger conglomerate boulder, we have to overcome a shorter steeper section and we are already standing on Dovjakovo sedlo. There we turn right and we continue in the direction towards northeastern slope of Ljubeljska Baba. Faded signs point us towards a dwarf pine-covered rib. On the left side, we ascend to its edge, where we turn left and we continue to a steep gully. There we ascend past a smaller tower (II degree of difficulty) to the next gully, through which we ascend below the upper part, where the steepness considerably eases. A shorter ascent over quite crumbly scree slopes overgrown by grass and rare dwarf pines separates us from the summit. Faded red dots help with our orientation the whole time. To the summit we step right below the newly erected cross.

Along the route: Dovjakovo sedlo (1728m)

I went there about twenty years ago and it stuck in my memory more as pathless terrain than a secured path, faded and sparse markings, some isolated piton, quite a bit of fallen wood and very short overall. With my colleague we were exploring the area around .... Lokovnikov Grintovec, Hajnževo sedlo . . . and we also took this path to Košutica. Take a peek here too: http://www.tejaoman.info/brezpotje_baba.htm

You won't believe it, but I don't know Once my colleague from Austria and I went up Hajnžev graben to Dovjakovo sedlo and then to Lokovnikov Grintovec and then via Gerhard Orasch to Košutica, from there descended to Hajnževo sedlo and back to the valley. I know it was a long day, that we were "exploring" . . . . but I really don't remember Praprotnik. I had tours recorded on floppy disks back in the old days, then technology changed and . . . sadly everything went to hell , memory is memory . . . many things slip away Maybe this will help you: https://tomazsarc.blogspot.si/2017/04/hajnzev-praprotnik-1742017.html

Nice, somewhat different approach to the mountain. Once you enter the wall entrance, there are no more orientation problems. There are plenty of red dots and even one peg on the path.

From Dovjakovo sedlo we go along the fence towards Košutica. On the left, a cleared scree and pathlet soon appear. We follow the clearings and red dots. Higher up we walk on steep scree and clearings, the path is clearly visible, there are enough dots, occasionally grab a rock (I). Overall a very interesting tour.

In the climbing section, the brushwood has been newly cut... And also the bolts are marked with two dots on the path, not one.
