Brela - Planinsko zavetišče Pakline (Planinska pot)

Access to starting point:
On the Adriatic Highway (road D8) between Split and Brela, approximately 4.5 km after the turn-off towards
Imotski/highway, we reach a junction where the right turn leads downhill to the town of Brela. We turn left (sign Napoleon Road/Mountain hut "Bukovac"). We drive uphill along the road and after 300m arrive at a larger parking lot where we park.

Route description:
From the parking lot we go up the road. After 100m we take the left branch and continue along the road towards
Brela climbing area.
The asphalt road becomes increasingly narrow. After approximately 800 m from the parking lot we leave the road and
continue left along the gravel road towards Brela climbing area.
After 200m we leave the gravel road and continue right uphill towards St. Nicholas/Gornja
Brela.
Along the well-marked mountain trail and Napoleon Road we overcome the incline while enjoying beautiful views.
Slightly above 500m we arrive at the natural feature of the Maidens' Walls (Nevistina stina). On the descriptive board we can
read the legend about this natural phenomenon.
A few meters further we reach a junction. Straight ahead the trail leads to St. Nicholas church, we however
continue right towards "Pakline".
At first we walk along the left side of the ridge, higher up we reach the ridge along which we continue until
we reach the window. Meanwhile we enjoy views in all directions.
From the window onwards through the enchanting Pakline forest we gradually overcome the slope.
We reach a junction where the sign "Vidilica" directs us right.
After a few meters we see the shelter. The trail is easy and very well marked.
