Bistriška planina - Koča na Dobrči

Access to starting point:
From the Ljubljana - Jesenice highway take the Ljubelj exit and follow the road ahead in the direction of Tržič. Just before the gas station near Tržič turn right (direction Tržič) and then immediately left (direction Begunje) and drive further to the village Brezje pri Tržiču. In the village Brezje pri Tržiču, at the top of the hill, turn right towards Bistriška planina. After approximately 100 m come to a junction, where turn right onto the forest road. The road, which ascends quite steeply further on, brings us after some time to Bistriška planina, where we park on the parking lot by the road (Brezje pri Tržiču - Bistriška planina 3.1 km, of which 2.6 km macadam).

Route description:
From the parking lot at Bistriška planina we continue on a macadam road which after a short ascent brings us to Breška planina, which we recognise by the wooden hunting hut. The worsening road then brings us to a junction, where we continue right on a steep cart track in the direction of Lešanska planina (left Brezje pri Tržiču and Koča na Dobrči - path over Breška gora). The cart track on which we then ascend has some junctions, but if we follow the blazes it brings us to the mentioned mountain pasture without major problems, from which a nice view opens up on Storžič and Tolsti vrh.
From the shepherd hut on Lešanska planina we continue left and diagonally walk across to the other side of the mountain pasture, where the path goes into the forest. For some time we walk on a footpath which continues without major changes in altitude, then we arrive at a marked junction, where from the left the path from Brezje pri Tržiču joins, to the right the path branches off towards the summit of Dobrča, and we continue straight in the direction of Koča na Dobrči. There follows a short descent and crossing of a cart track, then we walk a few more minutes through the forest. When the forest ends we step on the edge of the panoramic Podgorska planina, from where we descend into a small valley, and from there with one minute of further walking we ascend to Koča na Dobrči.
