Begunje (Krpin) - Sveti Peter above Begunje (via climbing wall)

Access to starting point:
We leave the Gorenjska motorway at the exit Radovljica or Lesce, and then we follow the signs for Begunje na Gorenjskem. When we get to Begunje na Gorenjskem, at first we still follow the signs for Tržič and Drago, and after the hospital we turn left in the direction of the recreation center Krpin, to which we arrive after approximately 100 meters of additional driving. We park on a large parking lot by the mentioned recreation center.

Route description:
Behind the bar Krpin, which is situated by the parking lot, there starts a well-beaten path which leads towards the church of St. Peter on Gora. The path at first runs on a gentle cart track, and then passes on the right side of the ski slope, where it ascends by the edge of the forest. Further on, we ascend relatively steeply for some time, and then the path after the shepherd's hut temporarily flattens somewhat. A little further, on the upper part of the ski slope, where the normal path turns right, we continue left in the direction of the path over the climbing wall. Next follows some traversing, at first still with nice views, after Mancina klopca the path passes into the forest. In the forest, we continue on the left path (the right path avoids the climbing wall and technically is not demanding) and in a gentle diagonal descent we descend to the foot of the climbing wall. Here the path becomes very demanding and ascends over a very steep but relatively short wall, where pegs and a steel cable along the entire length assist us. Above the fixed safety gear the steepness eases and we soon join another path, a few steps further the path avoiding the climbing wall joins us from the right. Next follows some more ascent and we join the marked path which starts by the fire station in Begunje.
We reach the mentioned path at the older stone religious symbol, and we follow the mentioned path all the way to the church of St. Peter, from which a beautiful view opens up.
