Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we go to the exit Radovljica (from Gorenjska side exit Lesce) and follow the road ahead in the direction of Begunje. In Begunje (only a little after the crossroad, where a road branches off to the left towards Žirovnica) we continue left in the direction of recreation center Krpin (straight Draga and Tržič). We park on a large parking lot by recreation center Krpin.
Route description:
From the parking lot, we continue on the asphalt road which higher up over a small bridge crosses the stream Blatnica and then changes into a macadam road. We continue to follow the road, and it soon brings us to a marked crossroad, where we continue on the left road in the direction of St. Peter (right St. Peter longer path and saddle Kališča). The road, which is getting worse, then quickly brings us to the next crossroad, where we continue right on a cart track (marked). The cart track then starts to ascend more steeply and brings us higher out of the forest on grassy slopes over which in a few minutes we ascend to the little church from which a beautiful view opens up.

The trip can be extended to the following destinations: Sankaška koča, Smokuški vrh, Pleče ( 55 min), Tomčeva koča na Poljški planini (1 h 55 min)
We recommend: trips from the same starting point, similar trips, panorama, summit register

I was there yesterday. The path is easy and goes mostly in the shade. But watch out for ticks, especially if you take your furry friend along. Mine brought more than 10 down to the valley, even though I use ampoules.jezenjezenjezenjezen

Currently there are about 20 cm of powder on an icy base, so sledding on the road or path is quite adrenaline-pumping at times.
Otherwise, a nice trip for winter days!

The path is dry, but on the last part (when you come out of the forest onto the meadow) it is icy and somewhat dangerous. On Sunday this is the "God's path".

Yesterday I explored the approach from the Završnica valley, specifically from the Pri žagi pasture, where I left the car and continued along the road. I'll upload the path recording later, some details on the link

Sv.Peter, Sankaška, Begunje - circular path... Ascent past the climbing wall, descent along the forest road. There is quite a lot of snow a little below the church covering the icy base. Also on the road there is quite some snow.. Crampons recommended..nasmeh

Hello, on 25. 12. 2025 on the road from Krpin towards Sv. Peter nad Begunjami we lost a brown children's fingerless mitten, size
80. If anyone saw it, we'd be grateful for info at 069770361, if someone finds it, please take it to the valley and notify this number. Thanks.
