Bela / Bad Vellach - Kärntner Storschitz / Pristovški Storžič

Access to starting point:
From the highway Ljubljana - Jesenice, we take the exit Kranj - east and follow the road ahead in the direction of Jezersko. From Zgornje Jezersko, we continue driving towards Austria to the settlement Bela / Bad Vellach. When the road gets very close to the river Bela, we need to pay attention, because we will soon notice on the left side yellow hiking signposts with signs for Pristovški Storžič, village Korte... Because there are no appropriate parking spots at the starting point, it is best to park already good 100 m higher, on an appropriate place by the road.
To the starting point, we can also come via the border crossing Pavličev vrh.

Route description:
From the signposts, we first cross the bridge, then we start ascending on the macadam road which is closed to public traffic. Through numerous hairpin turns, with increasingly beautiful views, in approximately 45 minutes, we ascend to the farm Pastirk, where there is a road junction.
Here we bypass the chapel on the right side and walk through the yard of the farm, then a little above the house we notice the yellow mountain signpost, which directs us to the right into the forest. Further, we ascend on an older cart track which has some poorly marked junctions. Higher, the path, very badly marked in many places, brings us to a clearing, above which the cart track turns into a footpath. Further we follow the poorly beaten but somewhat better marked path, on which in a moderate ascent we ascend to the nearby forest road.
When we step onto the road, the orientation problems end, as the path higher up is better marked. For some time we still walk on the road, then beyond the hunting observatory we continue straight on an increasingly worse cart track, which quickly turns into a gentle footpath, on which through a partly swampy clearing we walk to the marked junction on Pastirkov vrh.
Here the path from Jezerski vrh joins us from the left, and we continue the path partly on the cart track, partly on an occasionally steeper mountain path. Higher, the path steeply ascends for some time, then brings us to the saddle Kepp, where the path from the village Korte / Trögern also joins.
Here we continue left in the direction of Pristovški Storžič on the path which goes into the forest and gradually starts to ascend more steeply. During the path through the forest the path ascends quite steeply for a few meters (in wet danger of slipping), then it flattens and with the help of a steel cable crosses a few more meters of somewhat steeper slope (in dry undemanding). Above the steep section the path flattens somewhat and brings us from the forest into the belt of dwarf pines, through which in a few minutes we ascend to the nearby summit.
