Ankaran - Jurjev hrib

Access to starting point:
From the Primorska motorway, at the Srmin junction we follow the signs for Škofije and Ankaran, then take the Škofije exit. From the nearby roundabout, we drive in the direction of Ankaran, then to the center of the settlement, where we park on a paid parking lot.

Route description:
From the parking lot, we walk to the nearby roundabout, and from there we continue in the direction of Italy. Further, we walk on a sidewalk along the main road to Orthopedic Hospital Valdoltra, where we continue slightly right onto Vinogradniška pot. Further, we ascend on the asphalt road, along which there are at first still blazes, then beside a bigger concrete retaining wall we continue on the right road (marked path continues on the left side of the retaining wall). The road here flattens, and a little further it slightly descends temporarily. At a few smaller crossroads, we continue straight, and at the crossroad of two equivalent roads we choose slightly right, which ascends among plantations of olive trees. When we leave the plantation, a road branches off to the left, which leads to the nearby house, and we continue straight into the forest (right road leads to the settlement Barižoni).
When we leave the road we continue straight on a wider forest path (right path, which continues parallel with the road, is nature education trail), which starts moderately ascending. Higher, the path flattens and at the highest point we reach indistinct Jurjev hrib.
From the top, we can descend on the same route, or we can continue straight and then at the crossing near which there is an information board for Resslov gaj - Barižoni, continue sharply right and return to the asphalt road on nature education trail.
