Access to starting point:
We leave the Highway A2 Klagenfurt am Wörthersee - Graz at the Packsattel exit (from the direction of Graz we take the Mooskirchen exit), and then we follow the road towards the town of Köflach and further towards Judenburg and the Gaberl ski slope. Still in the town of Köflach, we turn slightly left into the settlement of Maria Lankowitz, from where we then follow the signs for the cottage Altes Almhaus, where we park on a gravel parking lot.
Route description:
From the crossing on the southwest side of the cottage we head onto an unmarked path, which ascends between the path leading towards the settlement Hirschegg and the path or road leading towards the ski slope Salzstiegel. The well-trodden but unmarked path then begins ascending on grassy and increasingly panoramic slopes of the peak Wölkerkogel. We follow this path to the nearby peak, where a larger statue of Mary stands.
The description and pictures refer to the condition in October 2024.
