On Saturday my wife and I went on an easier hike specifically from Planina Kal to Planina Razor, from there to Globoko, continued to Vogel and descended back to Planina Kal via Žabiški Kuk. Especially the path over Žabiški Kuk is very nice, very well marked with cairns and also easily followable on descent without any problems. Only very close to the planina there's a bit of confusion and you have to go by feel to the right. The path along the ridge and in some places very boldly routed descent is completely without major dangers, the view is wonderful and due to the terrain's openness you feel as free as a bird. In my opinion definitely worth visiting. For the whole path with moderate pace and all rest and snack breaks we took five and a half hours.

I also did the same path on Saturday with a friend, but in the opposite direction. Great views, recommend.

Hello!
I looked a bit through the archive. Tomorrow I plan to hike the mentioned path. But something I don't understand, namely "from Pl. Kal to Pl. Razor" as written in the first report and first sentence is not clear to me. This pasture is called Pl. na Kalu, not Pl. Kal. According to the description the logical start and return would be Pl. Podkuk. I think the writer mixed up the pastures.

Hello!
Finally I managed it! Park at the parking before Pl. Podkuk 1150m. Along the forest road to TNP barrier. At their info stake head right straight up to forest and base of Žabiški Kuk 1844m. First pathless across pasture, keep left edge. At forest entry search unmarked trail. Track it on small ridge. Follow it all through forest. Then some marks - cairns and carved arrow on beech. After two zigzags reach open. Trail narrow and turns right out of forest. Then gets vertical. At start literally chew knees. Then it flattens a bit. On nicely followable trail between scrub and right side of gully reach summit. Return same way. Trail to top exposed in places. Caution, also for slips.
LP and safe in mountains!

Between the white rock and the beech is the beginning of the path along the main gully.

The path to Žabiški Kuk from Planina Podkuk is now marked, that was the main surprise of today, but there were more of them, surprises that is..., happy trails nasmeh

Yesterday I started at the barrier below the pasture in Prodi, ascended to the mentioned pasture, then continued on the Geological path to Planina Kuk. I continued on the newly marked and locally quite steep path mentioned by Edina to Žabiški Kuk.
Descended via marked path to Planina Razor, did an extension to Planina na Kalu, then descended on once-marked path to Kneške Ravne.

Žabiški Kuk wasn't even in the first plan, Vogel even less nasmeh

Well, raw štruklji at Pl.Razor definitely were nasmeh

Mainly start in Kneške Ravne was planned. Besides expected pools and waterfalls along road through Kneža valley, Tadej's descriptions from this start nasmeh

and long-time desire and curiosity how to find mostly abandoned paths above Kneške Ravne helped. Worth the discovery. Don't think it was first or last time. But approaches definitely long, to top of Žabiški Kuk almost 5 hours, true lots of looking around as approach completely new to us both.

Our path looked like: Pl.v Prodih - Žabiški Kuk - Vogel - Pl.Razor - Kneške Ravne (on old once-marked path).

Kneške Ravne village like from fairy tale, lonely waits under Sp. Bohinj peaks, could fall in love if admired long, so hurried to deserved beer and coffee.

The road to the starting point (parking) at the barrier is renovated. From Kneža village there is still about 3 km of gravel, then asphalt. The road was in a desperate state for the last two years due to the construction of a small hydro power plant. The works are finished and the road is nicely arranged.

Whatever the experts agree on, on the sunny side of the ridge, we all look at Peči. This name has been passed down from generation to generation, and it will continue. velik nasmeh

Today on Žabiški Kuk from planina Podkuk or rather Močil. Thick fog and strong wind shaped today's tour. From the top I descended to planina Razor and returned to the starting point. Rocks and roots were wet and slippery due to the fog, no other peculiarities. Road to the starting point normally passable.

20.7. 2020. Several times I went past the sign for this peak. But I haven't been to the top yet. Well, all four of us decided for the first ascent to this peak. We didn't even think that the path was laid out so steeply. But panoramic. Really interesting. No snakes and ticks. And there was no one on the top. Nice day. Almost windless. Pleasantly warm. All full of flowers. What more could you want?

Road to pl.Kuk in solid condition. In the afternoon it clouded over but soon cleared up, right in the middle of the path the sun started warming me a lot. On the ridge the wind started to blow and it began to get foggy. Continued to Vogel and Globoko, didn't go further, but sat by edelweiss and rested.

Part of the road to pl.Stador newly asphalted. In winter not maintained, at least the notice says so. Further the road is as for some time, solidly passable but also a bit adrenaline nasmeh

. At pl.Kuk started in t-shirt but a little further from pasture blowing and colder. Better continued in t-shirt, got into shelter... soon warmed up and south side to Žabiški Kuk. Beautiful sunset colors are beautiful. Got cold, dressed and descended by the approach route. Lights not even turned on.
