Hi.
On the top there is only the summit book, unfortunately no stamp. But currently up there there are still some snow banks and lots of flowers.

Today I went up again, parked at Rosa, from there past Peričnik further along the road to Črlovec and on the upper path to Njivice. Before the junction to Kukova špica lots of fallen trees, so you have to go around a few times on shortcuts, then further already on the path to Njivice first a small rock slide over the path, soon after another snow patch full of branches and trees, but snow was wet and could cross, if not would have turned back. Path ahead is quite overgrown, in places narrow and barely visible, you see it has little traffic. Follows some occasional bushwhacking with scrub and fallen spruces on the path then finally marked path and in few minutes at the top then I hear thunder far in Austria, followed quick descent on marked. Starting point Črlovec to Vrtaški vrh, path is fine.

Only at the top there was 10 cm of snow yesterday. On descent, one needs to watch out for wet leaves.

Yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, December 6) from the Fabrka parking lot over Vrtaška planina to the summit and back.
Packed snow started at about 1200 m, shallow track probably of two hikers from a day or two before helped with orientation. Above Vrtaška planina marks occasionally disappeared, probably due to windfalls or the predecessors had chosen that ascent direction anyway.
Snow was dry, about shoe-top deep. In the slopes where the cross path to Njivice runs, the path was well visible. Windy at Njivice, in scrub below Vrtaški vrh and on top completely calm. Interesting views, misty lake below, higher cloudy cover, in between snow-covered rocky gray of the most prominent Julijci peaks.
Getting dark. Returned the same way. A bit sorry that I didn't dare explore the old path under the east ridge of Vrtaški vrh to the gully above Vrtaška planina due to the approaching night. But at the scenic spot of the cross path on which I was returning, Sila kindly granted a view of the otherworldly evening toilet of the Giants above Vrata. The honor lasting maybe 5-10 minutes I humbly accepted and greedily absorbed unforgettable moments of fantasy of the glowing sky. On the missed discovery of the old path, from which I probably wouldn't have been treated to such spectacles anyway, I of course instantly forgot in the aesthetic abundance.
The downhill path was equally steep, long, partly snowy, wet, covered with leaves and roots, as the uphill path. Especially in the dark, caution is needed. But the stunning evening images I had seen gave me enough energy that it went smoothly. At Fabrka the altimeter showed 666 m. On the unforgettable tour I can only guess what that could mean  . And please don't write that I should set the device more accurately next time .
Didn't need crampons on the path, gaiters were useful from Vrtaška planina onward.

Behind Stenar St. Nicholas was baking cookies - maybe he stoked too much.
