On Saturday, 17.11.2012, we set out on this path to the summit of Viševnik. The weather was sunny, but the wind was also bringing cold. Path: Rudno polje - Viševnik - Srenjski preval - Mali Draški vrh - Studorski preval - Visoki Draški vrh - Rudno polje Since there was no more snow, we decided to extend the tour to Mali Draški vrh and Visoki Draški vrh. Both paths are unmarked, but the trail is well trodden, so no fear of getting lost. In places, cairns help too. The path from Mali Draški vrh to Veliki is well secured with steel cables, they added/renovated completely new ones in between. Due to rock crumbling on Mali Draški vrh I recommend a helmet! Pictures from the hike can be seen on the website of Planinsko društvo Matica Murska Sobota: http://www.mojalbum.com/pdmaticams/201v21118-vicevnik-mali-in-vel-draski-vrh/foto/20283404

Haha Katja, we even chatted a bit at the parking lot . And I was thinking the whole way, nah it can't be you Prekmurci. You really sped up your pace, we quickly lost you. Good luck.

I assume that one with the cute dog, right? Yes, us Prekmurci are every weekend in the mountains on Gorenjska, so sometimes it's really hard to keep up with us :p Well, maybe we'll meet somewhere else Good luck to you too

Early morning in the dark start at Rudno Polje, then just before sunrise, which due to clouds in the east wasn't much visible, at Viševnik. On the summit constant fairly strong wind, which accompanied me also on descent to Srenjski preval and ascent to both peaks of Mali Draški vrh. Followed descent to Srenjski preval and continuation along the path towards Studorski preval. I left the path at the saddle between Draški vrhovi and continued to Veliki Draški vrh. The path is nicely traceable, on the summit great views around, only Triglav summit was in cloud. Followed descent along the ridge to Studorski preval and back to Rudno Polje. Until Jezerc occasionally strong gusts, otherwise the tour was great. Recommend, pics follow.

Today: Rudno polje, direction towards Viševnik, then over Kačji rob to Srenjski preval and along the path under Mali Draški vrh to the saddle between MDV and VDV and then to VDV summit. Back along the south slope of MDV and Viševnik to the path to Konjščica / Rudno polje and on towards Rudno polje. In the cirques on the north side of Viševnik there's still lots of snow. Particularly nasty is the crossing on the path under Mali Draški vrh, where at the end of the secured section there are four or five several-meter-wide snowfields with unpredictable end. I used an ice axe (footprints could be made half shoe deep), if I'd known there'd be more snowfields, I'd probably have brought crampons too. If the snow doesn't melt soon, it'll blacken and become hard and even nastier. Otherwise an exceptionally nice day, worth every step and breath...

I also conquered Ablanca, Tosc, Veliki and Mali Draški vrh from Rudno polje today and Viševnik at the end. Tour fantastic, weather wonderful, morning without a cloud, conditions very good. Path almost completely dry, some small snow patches to cross or bypass, but no big deal...Winter gear completely unnecessary today, you can walk nicely and normally on snow, when crossing snow patches which aren't many on the path still be careful. Stamps all out... Otherwise the day really for relaxation and enjoying all its beauty...

Yesterday my goal was only Veliki Draški vrh, but the other two "fell" too. We were a full bus, minority to Blejska koča, majority to Viševnik via Jezerc and Srenjski preval, I to those three neighbors. Hurried to Studorski preval, then to Veliki Draški vrh, down to saddle Na kontah, then Mali Draški vrh, Viševnik and down the ski slope to the bus where no one was. Of course for beer, bought local cheese at parking and then we gathered "singing drunkards"
