On Saturday I was on Mojstrovka before sunrise. The weather held until sunrise, then the peaks were wrapped in fog.
It was nice... But it didn't last long though nasmeh

On Sunday we were up there. Approach is passable without issues. Enjoy! We did. lp

Was at the summit before sunrise. Wow views 1a!

Road from Kranjska Gora side is dry, gritted, normally drivable. Plenty of parking at Vršič. Little snow, hard and not icy, crampons can be used right below when leaving the bushes. Paths to Great and Little Mojstrovka are trodden.

Hope the fragile truce (i.e. truce that doesn't hold human weight) between hikers and tourers gets trampled soon and soon we'll write and rant again about "completely hole-punched approach ski track" and signatures on virgin flanks like "where wild pigs go". Let it snow soon!

At night I wake up without an alarm and go to the mountains to watch the sunrise. From Vršič to Great Mojstrovka, where I waited an hour and a half on top watching the mountains. Then the sun finally rose and warmed up quickly.

Yesterday to Great Mojstrovka and later Bavški Grintavec was also planned but.... More description under the photos nasmeh

Before sunrise on V. Mojstrovka... crampons and ice axe from the car onwards

But I still can't go down to the valley :)

Just a small correction, in pic. 27 in the background it's not the Martuljek mountains but the Cmira ridge.

Vršič is passable with winter gear, road dry, about 5 cm snow at top. To the saddle I used crampons due to icy track. Further snow is hard, not icy. About 20 cm snow.
