Some smaller stones really are on the road, but it is normally drivable (21.9.).

I started from Učja on a nice, maintained path to Skutnik, from the top of Skutnik onwards past the bivouac to Velika Baba (Grande Baba) above Resia. Weather still okay, very few hikers, from the top of Skutnik I probably heard bear roaring above Resia. Nice despite worse forecast.

Path, this is not yet the summit of Skutnik

Maybe, but that sound was at least 2x rougher than from some local bull, heard across half upper valley. Otherwise path really nicely arranged, grass mowed...

How fast time flies, 3 years ago I admired such a beautiful peak and pics, true no description on Hribi, I'll use data from links, but what ... when weather this weekend plays its own game again.
How nice for those who can midweek hop to some hillock. smile

Conditions on 12.6.2022. Start from Žaga at 5 a.m., via planina Ognjenik and planina Baban to Babansko sedlo then ascent to Velika Baba, then short descent and then ascent to Veliki Babanski skedenj and return on other path under Mali Babanski skedenj to planina Baban. Later detour on other path past Boka waterfall spring, return to Žaga. Conditions super, no crowds nasmeh

Officially path marked to Velika Baba, though marks "worn", invisible at places. Path ascends quite steeply. From planina Baban onwards overgrown with grass, nettles, some bushes. No cairns to saddle. From saddle to summit visible marks and few cairns. To Veliki Babanski skedenj not many cairns, descent has some cairn help. Some path parts overgrown here too. Whole tour ca 17km with 2000 m. Start at 5 a.m. return to starting point around 11:30. If anyone is interested in details, available nasmeh

I didn't know where to go and stopped in Žaga towards Velika Baba. The grassy valley is a barely visible path, markings have faded, further there are cairns too. At the top cold like in December, so sat in shelter a short time. Descent same path. Below saw a big spider too, we don't have such here.
