Are the described conditions for the path from Lepena or over Komna? Thanks for info. smile

As garmont says, conditions from Lepena direction, though from Komna side no big difference, maybe some snow patch, but at these temps no problem.

On Tuesday, 23.6., to Velika Baba from Lepena. Weather wonderful, views fantastic. Path nicely marked and well trodden. No orientation issues. To junction for Velika Baba, about 10 min before hut at Krn Lakes, path very nicely routed for fast walking. Further on similar pace. Well, a bit slower as views really nice and we often stopped to look and photograph. Upper part more flowers, white edelweiss, large gentians... even some small eyebrights. First time we found Dupelj Lake, nice view from foot of Velika Baba.
Just below summit met two female hikers returning, shortly before two on opposite Velika Montura, otherwise incredible peace here despite full parking at Lepena. As predecessors wrote, really path for the soul.
The summit spacious, adorned with yellow flower clusters and incredibly panoramic. See all around - from Krn to Triglav. Wonderful views down to Krn Lake.
On return went to hut at Krn Lakes then to Dupelj Lake. Now only lake in Lužnica missing from Krn lakes.
Spent very nice summer day. Then 2.5h drive home. nasmeh

On the right side of the photo we caught a white butterfly, the blur below it is a hoverfly - there were quite a few14

The highest is Velika Montura, a bit lower from Baba - very nice views17
From the hut at KJ you can see directly to Baba18
Dupeljsko jezero quite close and above it Baba19

From Lepena past the Hut to Bogatinsko sedlo. From there to Lanževica and then pathless to Baba.
Descent on marked path back past the Hut to the valley.
All great, wife happy with the tour, just Lepena so far for us.zadrega Still worth it.nasmeh

Although at Klement Jug Hut all still under snow, path ahead dry and nicely passable another 20 min. Snow hard and passable everywhere except 400m crossing of sev slope of Šmohor, where sink deeply almost to pl Duplje. Met many ski tourers and some hikers. Weather to wish for, snow depth such that you can go where in summer without motorbike you couldn'tmežikanje

Due to worse forecast head from Lepena to Velika Baba, some rain then it stopped. Path to Velika Baba passable without winter gear. After descent go to Montura and return on other path. Then to lake and back to Lepena.

Thanks, the loop described above tempts me. From Lepena to Bogatinsko sedlo, Lanževica and Velika Baba. Maybe hop to Mahavšček in between.

9.11.24 on Velika Baba from Lepena. Column of people towards Krn, only a handful to Baba. Some celebration was at the lake. Super day, path without special features.

The 23rd memorial hike took place. In memory of all who died in the First World War. Many Hungarian soldiers are buried there. And it's right not to forget the horrors of war, where innocent young boys died. Born in that sad time back then.
