We start in the hamlet Pri Cerkvi, where over a suspension bridge we head to the right bank of the Soča. A few hundred meters downstream, right after Podolski stream, we step onto an unmarked path and the adventure begins. The path leads over a rock step past the mouth of Podolski waterfall and steeply bites into the forest. After a good hour we reach a fork of paths, left to Stara utro, right towards Ušje. We continue right, cross the stream and soon the path simply disappears. We search for a while, right and left, ponder and find its modest remains with faded yellow dots and cairns. We know we mustn't lose the right direction, so we carefully look for cairns and continue steeply uphill through the forest. We reach a fixed rope torn by a falling stone, but safely get over the gully to a clearing from which Trenta appears deep below us from bird's perspective. From here there's no trace of the path anymore, only cairns show the way. We search them, walk from one to the next and slowly advance towards Ušje. Above the tree line, where dwarf pines replace trees, a pleasant surprise follows, a well-cut path through the dwarf pines. Without it I can't even imagine how we would continue through the impenetrable expanses of greenery. We reach Ušje more or less comfortably and the view is really nice. Continuing towards Plešivec the dwarf pines are denser again and we have to fight through them. In doing so pollen showers us, as the dwarf pines are blooming. Below the eastern ridge of Plešivec we decide for direct ascent along it and with some scrambling reach the forepeak. Again some fighting through dwarf pines and we're at Plešivec. I don't know why the summit is called Plešivec, but it's quite covered with dwarf pines. We descend, a bit our way, to Stara utro, find the path and descend back to start.
