Up, down, around Resia

We set off to explore this little pocket of *Slovenian* in the borderland and ran into critters from Resia. They surprised us in the tall grasses and none of us escaped them. I don't know what they're called in Resian; we call them ... ticks. We sprayed ourselves abundantly and somehow it held for the whole trail.

This time we discovered the paths and hillocks anew and had no regrets. We found the start behind the cemetery in Prato, parked the cars there, first tackled the shady slope, then enjoyed the leisurely traverse, visited two viewpoints and one non-viewpoint, and descended to Tolbica.

We returned along that beautiful one and that asphalt one and after a good eight hours closed an ample loop. With some attention it's hard to get lost; you can also read the photo comments. We'll come back when it's no longer so hot nasmeh.

Coordinates of the starting point (Prato): 46.373680, 13.309006
Up, down, around Resia We parked in Pratu at the parking lot next to the cemetery. There is also a tap with good water there1
Up, down, around Resia The path starts right behind the church and is marked with blue markers (Sentiero degli Alpini)2
Up, down, around Resia The blue markers later head downwards to who knows where. We continued upwards along the nice path.3
Up, down, around Resia The direction is unmistakable and runs mostly to the left all the way to the marked junction4
Up, down, around Resia At the junction where we joined the CAI markings. Here we turned right5

Up, down, around Resia We also visited this summit. Along the path there are quite a few ruins of unknown origin.7

P4 of the Great War (Solbica, Resia)

I'll just stuff this trip here; it's a pity for a new thread. Short "thematic" path, a memory of WWI; grande guerra they call it in the dialect. It doesn't gain much height either, so more of a walk than a hike. Interesting that I didn't find a Slovenian name for the path. For most paths in the Resian valley there are our names: Ta Lipa pot, Ta Stara pot, Matejeva pot, Pusti Gost, but not for this one. From Solbica first to the Belvedere; there at Christmas they stage a Christmas story, and before that they lower the comet star from Pusti Gost. A fairy-tale event that stays in your memory until the end of your days. A bit higher the path turns right and after some very steep sections leads to the Tuursi building. A nook created for rest and soothing the soul, with lovely views. Then a bit down to the junction, where the signpost directs you to the bunker carved into the live rock. On the last downhill slope be careful; the path is thickly covered with dry pine needles, feeling like top powder on a hard base. Very slippery. Bunker as bunker; through the slit there's a nice view of the upper end of the valley. Then almost flat back to the path you left higher up, and down it to nearby Ladina. To Solbica just a stone's throw, with an open bar on the square there; they also serve "in the garden". Indeed short, but sweetly "Resian" nasmeh cool

Here is an additional description, also a path map:
