Turnca above Solčava

A few years ago Turnca "caught our eye" while descending through Hudem graben.
Prominent rocky pinnacle towering over Solčava and the Solčava church dedicated to Our Lady of the Snows. Zoki visited it a year later, together today.
Occasionally icy, frozen ground, snow and very steep all the way (up to 65°). Above 1000 m a.s.l. the ridge closed with vertical rocks. We searched for a passage and after a little less than two hours we stepped onto the rocky pinnacle of Turnce. Solčava under our feet. We sip schnapps from the bottle in the PVC tube. It protects the logbook and schnapps. In two years two entrieszmeden Still first page.
When eyeing the ridge ahead, we realize that in these conditions we have nothing more to seek higher up.
We check a bit where else to continue along the ridge? Curiosity, paid quite "dearly"zavijanje z očmi
The descent awaiting us now is a chapter in itself and I won't describe it...
We sigh in relief when we descend to the forest clearing. Now just the classic to the starting point, though icy and snowy...
Very steep up to 62° and descent up to 65°. Icy, snow, frozen ground - high slip risk. Orientation quite demanding!

Congrats from my side too, super! Probably very demanding even in summer with the steepness you mention...

Thanks
Ascent is steep but not extreme if you stick to the approach ridge. When you reach the vertical rocks, you must find the approach on the left side (east) and climb to the Turnce saddle. Nothing too difficult here.
Further along the ridge towards Ojsterc, Mačkovi peči, Rožni vrh, Lucijan is a different chapter. We were looking for a passage to the ridge so we could continue next time.
So we got into extremely steep terrain with a 65-degree slope, which was also snowy, icy, broken scrub...
Back to the approach path, I don't even know if we would have managed to climb.
If we had returned the same way we came, it wouldn't have been so demanding. But like this zavijanje z očmi
So, boldly up. Wait for better conditions and you will be rewarded with a view that repays all the effort for the steep approach!

Here you have to avoid the vertical wall to the left and find the approach - again to the right3

21.5.2021 Turnca, Trbiški sinkholes with springs

With Zoki we tried to find the approach path to Turnca - if it ever existed?
We managed to find traces of a quite well-trodden path, boldly executed, which then got completely lost in the steepness of the ridge. We found a nice approach in the rocky part, which allows some climbing - easy.
Continuation further along the ridge didn't succeed for us - Ojsterc. In steep (up to 63°) forest and rocky slopes we searched for passages. The total path took about 3.5 hours for just over 4 km. Tiring and demanding!

Upper Trbiška sinkhole, Lower Trbiška sinkhole, springs
To the upper sinkhole there is a nice traceable and marked path. The entrance is locked. For the lower one you need to make an effort. No path and the descent is quite steep. It is very nice and has a spring inside. It has two windows. For the other springs right by the Savinja you need to make an effort, as well as for the return to the path - steep!!!
Continuation along the Savinja to the bridge is impossible - steep overhanging rocks!

Nice to the gully and of course great springsnasmeh shame for continuation, obviously same situation at all search spots. And so innocent looks the start from Ojsterc itself down, soft grassnasmeh. regards

Congrats Grebenski! Next time to Krofička!mežikanje

I got here only to pre-summit of Ojsterc, sadly in wet world, so didn't climb up, also time limited. Wet ground and leaves pushed me back.nasmeh Waiting for repeat.
Really curious where you stepped to pre-summit? If you stuck to ridge, for me only normal passage past hole/cave where names written on wall. Did you go there?

Yesss velik nasmeh Krofička was planned but somehow before we stepped on Strelovec zavijanje z očmi
We stubbornly stuck to ridge if not possible then left more or less. Think our passage on geppo pic no.14, two spots rocky jumps. Nice passages, maybe smart with rope.
During the descent the watch was on pause for a while.1
Better than nothing...2

If you stuck so stubbornly to ridge like at that pic on Lucijanmežikanje then probably did natural bypasses, as expected in this ridge, especially without protectionnasmeh in that sense probably neighboring ridge not much more than half joke half seriouscool nice tour and nice places and paths all around. I conclude quite a mountaineering week in Solčava. Janez has rehabilitated himself, and already it pulls him uphill.
We go from Marija Snežna towards Opresnikova Turnica, over Ojstrc, Mačkova peč, along the road towards Icmankova planina, where below the planina the path through Hudi graben hides.
Beautiful day and wonderful trip.
On the ridge the terrain is rough (difficult), with lots of beautiful spots. The path through Hudi graben is conditionally passable (fallen trees), otherwise for me one of the nicest paths above Solčava! I hope to return.... safe!
