Today I strolled through the wonderful Bohinj Mountains, the rain soaked me in between. It was really cold! Otherwise a fun hike. No pics though, except with the mobile, because the ordered "gear" is delayed.

REPORT: http://bojanambrozic.wordpress.com/2011/07/16/po-bohinjskih-planinah-krstenica-gritnovca-voje-uskovnica/

See you tomorrow, probably somewhere around the seven lakes.

Regards, Bojan

You are really persistent, one can only admire you. If I had such a son, not that I have a lazybones at home. Let him read it!

I don't remember anything particularly churned up. Only down at planina Blato it was.

Yesterday I went from pl.Jezero to Laz at Lazovš
ki pass and on to Mišelj pass.At the top
there was quite thick fog, so couldn't see
anything.Returned via Krstenica.
Under the pasture they're felling spruces along the path, so you
can hardly get through. The path is quite churned up.
Better to return via the hunting path.

I went along the hunting path the whole time. That's why I probably didn't even notice the "mess".

Nice hike, combined with a bold statement: "... finally I can say I've hiked everything in this area." Congratulations! nasmeh

That I've hiked "everything" I should put in quotes. Even though I try hard to cover as many paths and approaches as possible, you can never hike absolutely everything. And I think there's no real point in that, as it would all become too cluttered.

Bojan, that teasing with the word "all" was a joke! But you caught and commented on a famous landslide on one of your photos - so famous that a whole mountain is named after it. nasmeh

Thanks. Of course I'll come to Ratitovec - in my opinion the toughest mountain running race we have here. I've done it three times already and it was always very tough. Only pity is I'm poorly prepared: still, I won't give up just like that.

In hope of a reply, I'm writing the question again, this time to this forum as I couldn't find a better one. How much snow has fallen or will fall in Bohinj? Is it wet/southern or powder? The question is mainly for the valley, i.e. lower Bohinj, as I'm planning easy snowshoeing. I need the answer urgently!!! Thanks in advance. jezik

It has stopped snowing in the valley. All day +2°C and 35 cm of snow fell. Zero degrees and thus dry snow above 1000m. On Vogel today over half a meter of snow fell.

Rudno polje-
..Past energy points, chapel, to the hut on Uskovnica. Trip suitable also for those whose pace no longer allows longer wanderings. You can drive further on the road to the first signs and shorten the path by half.nasmeh

Curious about the path from Grintovica to Uskovnica, anyone done it this year? Easily traceable? What about difficulty? From Uskovnica to Rudno polje probably no worries?

Yesterday we retirees from UD Predoslje-Britof explored a bit of Bohinj Mountains. From Rudno polje we visited planina Uskovnica. Then we descended to Stara Fužina. Last part of path quite rocky.
