The Old Path (Resia)

In spring 2024, in Resia as part of the Poti Po Näs project, they opened a new thematic trail named Ta Stara Pot. It is 14 km long with 500 m elevation gain. Besides the long trail, there are several shortcuts, all excellently marked. Trail starts in Ravanca in front of the church, parking lots free of course, then go counterclockwise through Bilo, Gost, Liščace, Njivo and Osojane, after which you reach Ta Lipo trail. Ta Stara and Ta Lipa then run together for a while, across the Resia river, a bit higher up, instead of to Solbica turn back to Ravanca. Most of this long Ta Stara is on footpaths, quite some walking also on road or asphalt with almost no traffic. The trail thrilled me, those who hiked Ta Lipo, Matejeva or Pusti Gost will know why nasmeh

Warning:
Short section through forest behind Sacolc building, just after Liščace, harder to follow due to dense foliage. Beyond dry stream bed keep right, always slightly uphill. Just in case I uploaded GPX track of hiked path to "GPS tracks" section.

In the entrance area of the info center "Centro visite, Parco Naturale Prealpi Giulie", which is always open, day and night, all week, there's a shelf with brochures and maps, home-style prospectuses, what's happening in Resia and what's worth visiting and walking. I took this brochure/map for the Ta Stara trail, hope it's still available. Of course free, just like parking in the valley velik nasmeh

TA STARA TRAIL + BARMAN WATERFALL

Well, we got another good idea here again and yesterday executed the trail according to instructions too. Just one difference we made. Added Barman waterfall and thus excellently spiced up the tour. I was there once years ago, on descent from Monte Cuzzer, so I suggested this addition. I recommend it to everyone else too!

We started in Ravanza and first walked through village Bilo, then crossed bridge in Tigu (and there bumped into the creator of this pagenasmeh), headed towards hamlet Gost, then in village Liščaci continued to Barman waterfall, and thus turned in another direction.
After waterfall followed villages Njiva and Osojane, in between walking on beautiful paths under freshly greened trees, or views from meadows to snow-covered Muzci and Kanin mountains. In Osojane village we were surprised by street signs in Italian and Resian. We also came upon a notice in Slovenian, namely referendum announcement in June.

We both agreed that early spring is probably really the nicest time to visit this trail!
Total walked about 19 km.

Too much asphalt, quite poorly marked, a bit forced all together. Ta lipa trail is incomparably 'nicer'

Montura, we didn't take all that you list as bad, or I'll say I mildly contradict younasmeh.
There is some asphalt indeed, mainly through villages and sometimes connections between them. But just then you have more chance to admire views to distant peaks (still snowy now), and walking through villages is interesting too. Everywhere some curiosities you don't see at home. Just in villages you get to know life in Resia. As for markings, we couldn't complain. Very frequent plaques, this time also red-white ribbons hanging at frequent spots. Maybe marking some race track, but we saw them right along the whole trail.
To spice up the trail more, we added visit to Barman waterfall. True, Ta lipa trail was nicer for us too, maybe also because we visited Resia first time then.

In general, everyone sees the world a bit differently. Attaching one more pic of permanent markings on the trail.

Excellent marking, both "main" Ta Stara trail and all shortcuts. Ta lipa also has some asphalt, this long version, and gravel too. Even in Pusti Gost the road doesn't escape you, though forest one, plus some concrete slope on top, same Matejeva . . .

Anyway, hundred people, hundred wonders velik nasmeh

ločanka,
when I went on Ta Stara alone, no ribbons. They put them for this event:
