After quite a few years, I decided yesterday to explore the terrain above the Planica ski jumps. I was extremely satisfied with the tour, but some facts related to it disappointed me again. -From Planica to Tamar there are two nice parallel roads. Closed to motor vehicles 24 hours a day. -The mountain hut in Tamar opens at eight o'clock. -Signboard soon after the hut: Srednja Ponca 3.30h -The path to it is screaming for a chainsaw or at least a scythe, as fallen trees (not just from this year) heavily obstruct walking on the little trail. Where is our proud PZS, which is increasingly sinking into inactivity. It's not just Komna, Sedmera, Kredarica... I know everything is banging against the wall, but still. As said, when I leave the car, the first stop is at Srednja Ponca. I take pictures, quench my thirst and change wet rags that I could wring out. When I did this path towards Kotova špica many years ago, rusty, jingling Italian cables in the notches stuck in my memory. Ha, as if it was yesterday. Everything is the same, only the rust is thicker. Of course, I avoided them from afar. Mists kept appearing all the time, but they didn't hinder me while moving. I had short stops at Zadnja Ponca and Strug. From it, an easy notch leads to the towers, which consist of three almost equally high peaks. The highest is the last one in the direction of Vevnica. I stayed on the summit for over an hour; except on Mangart, I saw no signs of life anywhere. I return the same way, in Tamar I treat myself to beans, in Dovje a cream slice.

Maintenance of local paths is the responsibility of local PDs, not PZS. But improvements are promised, as we have a new law for a couple of months that brings funding for mountain trail maintenance.

Every time the same complaining As if you really don't want to understand what the relaxation of traffic to the Tamar hut would bring...

I agree with the complaint about opening huts at seven or eight(?) o'clock. As if they were retirement homes...

As far as I know, the Dom in Tamar has not been "mountain" for several years, as it is managed by the agricultural community and not PD. As for the custody of the surrounding mountain trails, they have passed under the umbrella of PZS and no longer under PD. When they will be arranged... Otherwise, Tone, congratulations on the nice tour.

Given the service there, it's still opening too early. Did you forget, Tone, how they served me coffee there last year?

As long as the Tamar Hut and the path to Ponca were managed by PD Medvode, both were impeccably maintained. Denationalization did what it did.

And what was different from now? Paths were all worse equipped, with rare, loose slings and pegs here and there, incomparably worse than the currently equipped paths. In the huts partying until morning, unrest. Only a few caretakers had order. Hut equipment is probably still at the same level in many places as 40 years ago. I last slept in a mountain hut 12 years ago (Vršič), on the blue ones, unrest until two in the morning!! Never again.

Immediately in attack mode for argument? What was different? The path to Ponca checked and repaired multiple times every year, never buried in trees; Protections, even to Velika Ponca upright and not lying down. Hut in Tamar open before 8. As for sleeping in huts, every year I sleep in at least one and it's not unrest everywhere until two in the morning, partying and bad sleep. Maybe some hut really needs to be dropped if possible, otherwise general statements do injustice to all those who try.

If someone doesn't agree with your comment, it doesn't mean they are "in attack mode for argument" or whatever that means. Everything I wrote is from my own over 50 years of experience. They also drank late into the night in this hut. I hope it's different now. How this path was maintained in the past, I really don't know, because the left side of the valley interested me more.

Sorry for a bit too many pictures and slight delay. @lynx, I also heard something about it, but I'm afraid the money will quietly disappear, like in other projects. Marjan, you obviously still feel very youthful, walking happily on closed valley roads because of the hollow phrase 'ecology'. I have nothing against closing it for coffee drinkers and salon types. For early mountain visitors until around half past six in the morning it could be open. Bojan, the girl who served me beans mentioned there is some bell for early visitors, but the big poster says - open from eight to eight. Thanks, Dolfi! I still claim that PZS is the umbrella organization that should show a bit more agility, be it paths, huts, covid, prices, weather... Lidija, I'm not as well informed about the data as you, regardless of the caretaker the path deserves at least rough cleaning. Let me add that the cables are all in exemplary condition. Drago, you're so fast and nimble that you don't need any huts, no cables, you even tread your own path... When will I catch up with you
