Good that it's winter in the mountains, in the valley it's more or less green after all.
The path to Škrbina is always nice, weather winterly as it should be, conditions good.

Caution this weekend won't be superfluous, because at least in the Western Julian mountains it's quite windy, snow has been blown away, danger of slab avalanches.

Beautiful day in this corner. Wednesday 26.12.. snow starts already in the valley, but just a sample... you can tell it's inversion, because at parking it's like in a fridge, while at Krni dol meadow it's quite pleasant. Continuous snow base starts only somewhere at the fork to Riomoz notch. To the top mostly powder that doesn't hold a person in spots. But there are more compact sections too. Under the powder sometimes ice too, so some pieces slid away. But little snow so it didn't pose any danger to us. At the saddle we went right to a smaller peak on the ridge, better view there. For more enjoyment of this area we have to wait for heavier precipitation... you know which... hehe.
