After crossing Dolkova špica and descending to Rdeča škrbina I climbed to the nearby Rogljica. At the top I added a big hat to the lonely cairn which due to the sun's heat couldn't enjoy the views .... , I sat a bit by the nice panorama and silent company, then slowly "odrikvercal" back...

Last weekend circular variant: Vrata - bivak IV - Dolkova špica via SE ridge - Rogljica - Rakova špica - Kucelj - bivak IV - Vrata. Providing description for part of the route - ascent to Rogljica.

The minibus takes me to Vrata early in the morning, I even dozed off a bit during the ride . Already quarter to five this year for the third time I start with headlamp from in front of Šlajmerjev dom. This time no one in my direction, in the four-bed room there were probably guests as the window was open. I don't stop, I stow the poles in the backpack only right below the rocks of Lower Dolkova špica, above the meadow full of alpine flowers. There are some cairns set up, which make sense only in the lower part, higher up you look for the easiest passages among the rocks, and the ridge narrows too, so orientation is not an issue. After almost three hours I reach the summit with the stone cone and immediately check the altitude which was problematic last time. I was really surprised, 'Locus Map' reads 2541m for me. To the main summit there's still some scrambling, here you practically just follow the ridge. I stay up there quite a while, as the mountain is an excellent viewpoint. I cross the fore-summit and descend to Rdeča škrbina, which really has the right name. Then a short and quite demanding ascent (crumbly, loose rocks), by nine I'm already sunning on top of Rogljica. My ascent route in the lower part is similar to the upper sketch, but for the last third of the mountain I climbed quite a bit more to the left of it. Return from Rdeča škrbina along the well-visible path past Vrtača towards the bivouac, clouds slowly gathered, so the descent to Vrata was really pleasant, without heat. I was way too early for the bus, a young friendly alpinist who was returning from the climbed north face of Triglav takes me to Dani.

The approach is a bit longer, since you have to start from the scree anyway. I went differently each time, most approach via the gully near Škrlatica, but I don't know if it's still normally passable after all those thunderstorms. Anyway, the left side of the wall is more demanding than the right.
