Visiting Rakov Škocjan along the newly arranged educational trail is interesting. Above all, it is nicely arranged, with many information boards about sights, vegetation of this park and it leads to viewing practically all peculiarities of this karst area. The whole was also much more interesting due to abundance of water in Rak river from recent rain. Start of circular path was at the now closed hotel, direction depends on own choice. nasmehmežikanje

Even for easier and shorter paths one needs to prepare. Legend says that in Tkalca Cave once lived a weaver who wove even on Sundays, day of rest, and thus disturbed elves, witches and other fairy creatures living in the cave. He disturbed them so much that they turned him to stone and today we see him as a stalactite. It was Sunday when we were there, so I told the princess before the trip: "In Tkalca Cave we'll be quiet as a mouse so they don't turn us into stalactites. And if we meet a bear in the forest by chance, I nicely ask you to leave it in peace and not provoke it." We didn't become stalactites, about the bear some other time . . . Great outing which we'll surely repeat and add more to nasmeh

Yesterday we swapped our home forest for a walk in Rakov Škocjan. We started at the hotel, according to path description we walked Jamarska path (brown) and Tkalčeva path (yellow).

Predecessors have already said everything: beautiful piece of Slovenia; it especially shines in these spring colors of young greenery and colorful flowers.

Today we met animals (besides the classics, of course): herons, several mice that weren't shy at all, hundreds of frog tadpoles, a squirrel, a young viper right on the path. A real little paradise!
The whole circular path with some extra detours was 9.5km long and 360m elevation gain... something like that mežikanje

This time by bike, instead of with the princess. Started in Dolenje Jezero and followed "Jezerku" to Rakov Škocjan and on to Dolenja vas, from where it was just a little more to the end, that is, where I started. Morning a few drops of rain, later mostly clear. Rain in previous days made sure roads weren't dusty, weekday meant almost no traffic. Only in Rakov Škocjan some visitors, mostly foreigners. This loop was enough for me this time, next time maybe connect the previous one (Slivnica) with the later one (Menišija) and add today's (Rakov Škocjan) zavijanje z očmi Nice and fine, short and sweet nasmeh

Something in the sense of "Everyone on the bike for a healthy body" velik nasmeh Similar to August, only this time in Rakov Škocjan itself I took different paths and rode the park in the opposite direction than in summer. The end was different too, this time I added a detour through Cerknica. Roadside stakes are already there that mark the edge in winter. So winter is not far, judging by the height of the stakes there could be quite a lot of snow zavijanje z očmi
