Yesterday I realized the 8800m+ project, about which I already wrote something a few months ago. The purpose of the project was to hike 8800 vertical meters in one day. I succeeded yesterday and thus in 16 h 22min hiked 8922m of elevation gain. I did the project on the route Stahovica, Mala planina. I descended or flew to the valley with a paraglider, which I didn't carry with me, and with my personal car. I recorded the whole route with a GPS device. Thus hiked over 80 km. Thanks to everyone who stood by me. Best regards.

Am question no. 1 - how did you pick the number 8800+? Wouldn't 10,000+ sound cool for the plan? question no. 2 - what does car use mean? +5000 v.m. driving or just necessary evil?

Hi. I went a bit through yesterday's memories on Mala planina and only now saw the question. In this project I planned to reach Everest's altitude 8848m and named it 8800m+. Since only ascents counted I decided to fly to the valley, which is easiest and fastest. Weather changes and paraglider has its rules to even fly and conditions changed in a moment. Nothing else left but to use longer and harder descent by car which extended 1 cycle by 20min. Good there weren't many, because all those bends I wouldn't endure for another drive down. Also had to descend extra 150 m to the car. Otherwise nice moment when during such feat you meet colleagues on the path who breathe with you and wish success. Oh maybe just this. 8 cycles with average ascent time 1h 28 min from Stahovica (Calcit) to Polanski rob on Mala planina. Best regards, Klemen

What's next? Traverse from Karavanke to Pohorje?

Bravo! You managed the descent really well. Actually, you gave me a good idea how I could train big elevation differences in a similar way - and I wouldn't have ankle troubles.
