I could call it wink Ponikva 11:04….Šentjur 19:34, but anyway, 14.04.2013 from the starting point - ,,Antona Martina Slomškove,, Ponikva hiking westwards into the Celje basin. Yeah, the trail could be named differently too, because with my buddy Vinko via Ponikva we connected two more major potential starting points for Resevna, namely the pleasant settlement of Dramlje and industrial Štore. Descent done in Šentjur. Trails still wet and in some parts muddy in pleasant sunny weather.

The entire route mainly followed hiking trails and I deliberately chose a somewhat more distant starting point so that we could explore a part of Slovenian territory in the Voglajna river basin that was less known to us. To Dramlje of course the path is excellently known, as I've hiked it in a few combinations already. From Dramlje onwards to Štore a complete novelty but interesting dynamic route in pleasant landscape diversity. Somewhat before Štore – Prožinski vasi crossing the railway line and from there more concrete stuff to Resevna via the hiking trail from Štore, which hasn't been described on this forum yet. Ascent not too steep but interesting enough in pleasant landscape also partly along the stream. Tower, mountain hut and then descent to Šentjur. Total 31 kilometers and a thousand plus some elevation gain. To Ponikva at the starting point and from Šentjur home with the help of Slovenian Railways.

Of course the narrower area of Resevna was visited meanwhile, while on the trails between Ponikva and Resevna wink solitary among more or less scattered farms and also some more compact hamlets and settlements. Locals friendly and ready for chat and words of encouragement. We progressed relatively quickly although also some extra time for viewing and memorizing the route. Above Kompole a bit towards Šentjanž above Štore and Svetina and some wink sights for potential activities in the future. Crossed the railway twice and also the motorway cross of Slovenia near Celje twice. Somehow logical continuation with already more activities higher towards Konjiška gora, to get to know the lower world in the Voglajna basin somehow. Route at the end flat - one-way but still somehow 80% circular like this. Yeah that was a new view of a part of Slovenia between Ponikva – Štore - Šentjur and hiking activities somehow wink ,,transferring,, westwards - into the world along the Savinja and further along the Sava.

In Dramlje the branch off to Proseniško – Štore under the church at the rectory is not marked and quite some skill and also talk with locals were needed to find the right path. Locals told us that the hiking trail !? is abandoned or being abandoned but on some parts it was excellently marked, because it's also the hiking trail of the XIV. Division. From what was seen, this section is practically without activity. Directly by the motorway near the Zima rest area also a visit to the partisan hospital Zima. Lp

Hiking activity between Štore and Ponikva in the afternoon. For a while followed the 14th Division path from Opoka then somewhat more to the west to the edges of Proseniško Lake and through Proseniško settlement. Then connected to the original path along Goričica ponds and continued towards Dramlje. Partisan hospital Zima right after crossing the overpass over the highway. Path excellently marked from the hospital onwards towards Dramlje, last year it was bad...at the animal shelter a sturdy dog bark greeted me and quite mežikanje a few were waiting for new owners...To Dramlje via more marshy part, but due to lack of rain quite dry and also not too many insects and various scum yet. From Dramlje center to St. Ursula on Vodulah and then descent towards Ponikva. On this part in Razbor settlement underpass under highway and next to it also the bed of Slatinski stream. Still pleasant forest part along ponds and end in Hotunje settlement at Ponikva train station.
I wasn't exactly fast mežikanje, took quite some photos...it was quite pleasant on paths also somewhere between Voglajna in Štore and Slomščica in Hotunje. I met no one active, this world is more of a gray area regarding hiking and also running...can't count local dog walkers in active company. Interesting world in its own way, not too many elevations, relief similar to some Šentilj or Svečina...Nice day, weather hanging and at end in goal some thunder in distance back towards Konjiška gora. Not exactly some hiking highlight tour but some new insights were there...

Short hiking activity. Ponikva train station, Hotunje settlement more than suitable starting point. Today towards the west somewhat lower area in the direction of Dramlje settlement and higher to Vodule/St. Ursula or somewhat below Dramlje settlement towards Štore, meadow with stream and turnaround back on the identical track.
Pleasant area, somewhat lower. Razbor ponds, area with water especially attractive. Quite a few paths along the way partially ,,walked around,, . Slomškovo, Drameljsko, Path of the 14th Division and maybe more…some learning trails for sure. Pleasant area caught between Celje hills and Voglajna hills on one side and on the other side Dramlje hills and Konjiška gora. That's mainly the Šentjur area. You somewhat connect with the help of nature the much more urban/traffic central railway and motorway junction
Yes, terrains and surfaces varied and it was really pleasant around noon on partially soaked and muddy terrains. It was windy though.

Repetition practically of the path described above, this time in evening variant...Under Dramlje, unlike before, no descent towards Partisan hospital Zima or Štore. Definitely pleasant training, relatively close, easily reachable - by train starting point and some terrain change, so not always Boč with surroundings...Frost pressed hard, along the relief we noticed with colleague Vinko, who was along, also some interesting frost spots along the path and Celje with surroundings has during the year also quite a few minus temperature records due to specific location...Paths mainly frozen, where there was more water/smaller springs and at Razbor ponds also some muddy sections. No wind.
Definitely it was pleasant, for a change the same ,,track,, there and back...

15.02.2015, Sunday between Ponikva and Štore. Via Dramlje settlement. Conditions for walking pleasant. Terrains varied and the whole path exclusively between 240 - 340 m above sea level. However quite undulating. In shady spots still quite wintery. In sunny already half spring. Many different points. Twice over the motorway. Once with the help of an underpass and once with the help of an overpass. Partly along Slomškova and partly along the 14th division path. Between Proseniško lake and Štore not best marked. Better to follow markings and it was necessary somewhat on mežikanjeone's own. Evening/night in this part practically from Dramlje onwards would be more than easy, but the challenge remains. From Štore still extension towards Resevna along Curgelj stream/too fast for train and on return to Štore still via Kompole/Sv. Lovrenc settlement... Neighbor and friend Vinko was there...

Between Dramlje and partisan hospital Zima up to the motorway crossing excellently marked. In continuation, the marking gets worse meter by meter...and at Goričica ponds it's practically gone! So the motorway is no problem for, say, wildlife but it's also a sharp divide also in trail marking. Obviously the matter is being neglected and we had to go somewhat on our own with my colleague. Reached Opoko or rather Štore anyway. I have a lot of photo material in both directions unfortunately no possibility to make official trails from Štore towards Dramlje and further towards Konjiška gora or right towards Ponikva for now in the official description...This transitional area between Celje hills and Konjiška gora definitely interesting, but also question who uses that in reality today with all the mobile technology!!Lp

On trails between the Celje Hills in the south and Konjiška gora in the north. Today in the afternoon, southwestern part of the Dramlje Hills between settlements Dramlje and Laze pri Dramljah/partisan hospital Zima up to junction with Maribor - Celje motorway. Of course also back to Dramlje. Trail partly wet and muddy and it was cloudy...
