Even in Planinski vestnik in the "with us on the trail" section pathless routes are shown with picture and line "directions", and no one jumps into the air. Maybe it's allowed there because "the chosen ones" publish it'zavijanje z očmi

Yesterday 10.11. I set off towards Vel. Špičje from the hut at Dvojno jezero already before five in the morning. It was dawning under the wall, there I turned left from the marked path. It's good to check where the marked path runs by some major feature so it's easier to find on the way back. I circled Brda. Plaski Vogel appears, I circled "Za dolino" along the same contour on the right side.

Under the steep grassy part I put on my helmet too, I replace the poles with an ice axe and climb first up steep grasses to the ridge and then along the ridge to the top. Navigationally demanding tour requires stable weather (fog), dry grass (nevertheless I took ice axe), enough water (in case of heat) as the route to the top and back to Dvojno jezero takes at least 8 hours.

It had been planned for some time, yesterday finally realized. Not exactly in the form initially planned (from Velika vrata over Čelo, thanks anyway to all who helped with advice on that route), but approximately as described on hribi.net. Well, a bit extended. We included Travniški rob, then continued along the ridge to Travniška škrbina and Travnik. Ascent and especially descent from Plaski Vogel is the most demanding part. Cairns somewhat ease the not easiest orientation. No serious climbing, but steep grassy slopes where great caution is needed. The girl above those grasses wasn't thrilled at all. For the end, also to the 4th two-thousander, Rušje, which sticks out isolated about 100m from Travniška dolina.

Wonderful all-day tour, weather just right so the sun didn't burn too much, until descent from planina Za skalo we didn't meet anyone, last entry in the book at Plaski Vogel was 27.8. So only chamois, marmots and...snakes kept us company.

We talked about it one week earlier in the Dolomites and realized that both of us had it planned. And of course it was necessary to seize the first opportunity nasmeh

Since I ascended from the Vrsnik direction the whole tour went along unmarked and little-trodden paths. Obviously there's not much visit from elsewhere either, as there were no entries this year neither at Travnik nor at Vogel. Going up I kept to the right side of the valley which was still in the shadow of Cela; snow melted recently, just a few patches still persist. Coming back I also crossed the ridge of Travniski rob; the whole way I saw no living soul, not counting a couple of marmots, a herd of chamois and one snake. So yes; place and day for unplugging.

Has anyone been in these parts recently for snow conditions info?

Almost no snow on the path or it can mostly be avoided. Crossing can be, due to the labyrinth of all kinds of karst phenomena, a dangerous trap. No water on the path, need at least 5l/day, or stove for melting snow patches, recommend ice axe.

Thanks, we also approached yesterday via Travnik straight along the ridge to the summit. Snow only remains under Vrsac and Čelom but doesn't pose big problems. Good thing I have lower consumption and from two liters I brought back more than half a liter.velik nasmeh

Start at the ramp and in a good hour you have the pasture in front of you. Sun fully shines on us somewhere mid-valley, of course Čelo still protects us here and there afterwards. No need to talk about snow, what there was we used it well on ascent and even more on descent. Judging by the above entries we've already exceeded the annual visit quota in these partsvelik nasmeh. As for consumption, we two had together 2.5l of drink and it was enough even in yesterday's warm day, well we're just different.

Uh, now I understand where your small fluid consumption comes from. nasmeh Of course, if you have to carry a heavy backpack (full of water) you naturally drink more too.

Many things depend on the volume and tonnage, and some little things toovelik nasmeh. The tour over Travnik to Plaski Vogel is not exactly a stroll; we descended to the saddle between Travnik and Vrsac and down to T valley all the time using the remaining snow tongues and thus saved quite a bit on time and energy.
