Slightly late morning in Žlebe it wasn't cold at all. Where are you old winter? Park right at the start behind customs station. Snow enough and on road nicely trodden by walkers and snowshoers, partly driven by big car and some skier. Really calm and solitary. Snow-covered spruces laugh in all their winter beauty, here and there a bird and gray sky. On high plateau (Pecol) always overwhelms me its size and width, especially untouched snowy whiteness. Not much yet, but enough for enjoyable zigzagging. Oh I'm ahead of myself. When I look around, decide for Škrbina nad Cjanerico, seemed whitest to me. Draw spur across wide pastures, where are you marmots sleeping? For ascent choose central part of wide slopes. Zig zag and again zig zag, don't count them, slowly ascend, don't like steep spurs, always on first skins setting. When reach small flat feel wind from SW, snow all time dry on hard base, old snow or crust. Finally Škrbina, look down to Špranja, then across to Mojzesova, poor this winter, but it'll come! Hot tea, then prep for descent, all coordinated. This time won't sit here up. Skiing, snow soft to half-hard crust, avalanche danger II level, slope ideal pitch. Enjoying, every turn almost fully succeeds, good skis. Visibility not best, bit diffuse, but smooth no problems. When slope flattens below need bit more careful. Snow not excessive, but surprisingly no scraping. Soon on road, all nice Italian girls walking up, where are boys, husbands? Down in Žlebe turn into Baito, Friulian frico with polenta and glass of red perfect finish to this tour, first real in this winter . Recommend.
