I set off this Sunday to the first thousand-meter peak in the eastern part of the Muzci ridge with an interesting Resian name. The starting point for path 739, which passes by it, is the parking lot at the bridge over Beli potok (Rio Bianco), less than a kilometer before the Tam na Meji pass (Passo di Tanamea). The mentioned path is also used by the Italian pilgrimage Heavenly Path (Il Cammino Celeste) from Aquileia to Višarije (from where there are also Austrian paths to Gosposvetsko polje and Slovenian to Brezje). From the same starting point, we can also head to Breška gora - Punta di Montemaggiore (3 h) in the Italian part of the Stola range, which shares the starting and Terska valley with Muzci; this valley starts behind the aforementioned pass. The well-marked and maintained path to the Nizki vrh pasture (it is visible already from the aforementioned bridge) at an altitude just below 1200 meters - where there is a shelter, former cheese dairy (Ricovero Casera Nischiuarch), today used as an observatory for wild animals - runs almost entirely through dense beech forest. This prevents better views even in winter, when leaves cover the trail instead of a carpet; the trail initially rises steeply, then more gently ascends while crossing ravine slopes to the east. In the last third of the path, the trail descends by about 50 meters of elevation, and the pasture is not far after. Past the shelter, a cart track leads to a saddle, where path 739 continues towards the St. Anne church and later to the Karnica peak (Sella Carnizza) in the upper part of the Učja valley - the unmarked trail to Low Peak turns right and takes us under the ridge to the east. It is a nice forest mulatiera, which we follow to interesting cliffs and a cave, where it is just a few steps to the summit. The mentioned peak is also wooded; some views to the north are only on the ridge above the shelter, better views are from the pasture to the south or (Italian) Stola ridge. I myself was deprived of the true landscape picture due to low cloudiness. Despite the southern location, this short path is certainly pleasantly fresh even on warm days; there is also some water along it in the initial part. From the pasture, we can continue on a slightly more demanding ridge path to Zajavor (1815 m) and descend circularly to the Tam na Meji pass. To the starting point at the bridge from Žaga is a 20-minute drive.
