I have quite some experience with mountain huts abroad. In all matters they don't reach their knees (as they say).
Our mountain huts in high mountains ... I have no comment. Well, of course I do, but I'd rather refrain.

Jprim, why bother if they can fire you anytime like a dog. Yeah, I'm thinking of Valvasor. If you do badly, everything's clear, even the above-mentioned Slovenian keeper wouldn't last long like that.
My opinion of local huts is otherwise very good, it's true I understand and tolerate a lot.
But I've noticed several times that it quickly comes to short circuit if the guest is... let's say special. Last time at Stanica there was a lot of eye-rolling because the girl didn't bring beer and later food to the table. But the sign that they serve only at the counter or that you have to come yourself for the order even Bocelli wouldn't miss.

Hello!
Since my husband and I haven't visited Kope yet and don't know the hiking trails there, please suggest and describe some one-day trip, we'd overnight either in Grmovšek's hut or Ribnica hut.

Jesenice news 26.2.2021-
Kovinar hut in Krma and Prešeren hut on Stol, will probably open mid-June, Valentin Stanič house early July.... We already kindly invite all mountaineers and hikers to visit our huts and breathe deeply, adds association president Olga Oven..

Maybe not the right section, but that's how it is.
Newly opened hut on Golte, really nice, big celebration at opening.
Yesterday's status - hut closed, though website says OS.

Sad, looking for caretaker again, we learned at the hut. Mountaineering club demands high rent.
On our way we did just under 1200m elevation gain and could hardly wait to reach the hut, as weather really wasn't the best. Windy at Boskovec summit, foggy, not pleasant. Sun showed occasionally.
So we quickly continued to the valley.

I just don't get it, why some rush to huts as if urgent, and there as if they must order something to eat, drink, as if obligatory  then whine when closed. Take plenty food and drink, and bye
