Saturday, 16.2.2019 -> ski touring descent

Gorgeous day. Enough snow for great skiing, but at these temps it won't last long. In the morning the snow cover was frozen and the ski track icy, so skins won't hurt. Below Val di Legnan grass and bushes already pushing through the thin snow cover, higher up occasional rocks appear, so some caution is advised. (for now) excellent and highly recommended nasmeh

Wednesday, 8.2.2023 -> ski touring descent

Slowly running out of fingers on both hands to count visits to Dimon and surrounding peaks. Today Nedis and Dimon touring, Paularo recently by bike. Not much snow around here, first thaw will take it to the transmitter hut casually. Higher up better snow, will last a while there. Ascent starting right around, gentler, then battle with stormy wind to Nedis, from there to Dimon a bit better, summit almost windless. Probably reward for effort, could have given up as wind shook me properly at times. Descent to transmitter hut excellent, most on soft windblown snow, some on drifted hard as rock, intermediate counter climb back to Nedis as usual unnecessary. Weather divine except wind, no crowds, lovely views. nasmeh

Warning:
Road soon above Osteria al Camoscio "closed", barrier across half the road with no further driving sign. Didn't fully understand the attached note, so drove to Ligosullo for "instructions and explanation". At own risk to end, if you veer off road costs yours, police or carabinieri send bill. Local confirmed who skied down from hill when I started. Road currently completely dry.

I thought now's not the right time for these twins, but we headed out anyway. Turned out that for beautiful nature it's always the right timenasmeh. And that's what showed on this visit. Quickly stepped on nice green trail and great surroundings accompanied us whole way, blue sky, gray partly snowed peaks, around M.Dimon real alpine meadows of yellow pasque flowers, didn't know what to admire. Then little lake appeared and day perfectnasmeh.

Trail started at Castel di Valdaier manor ~1350m. Continued above namesake pasture. Left transverse trail for ridge over Val di Legnan, Monte Neddis, Monte Dimon then past Montelago pasture to Monte Paularo. Returned on gravel road 404 first down to lake then short cut to start.

On top and already on trail admired Monte Tersadio, Grauzaria, Sernio, our and west Julian Alps, High Tauern to Austria, practically all Carnic Alps, view reached even Dolomites though not best visibility. But Antelao showed its partly snowed shape whole trail.

As usual couldn't resist posting bunch of picsnasmeh.

Great cool From where you turned to Valdaier next time only 5 min drive (2km) to saddle Forcella Lius where marked trail to Tersadio starts (CAI 409, under 3h to summit)

Nice, great, I love your pics and think to myself I'd like to be there too. Maybe.zavijanje z očmi
But too many goals, and not retired yet to pick the weather on weekdays. Pasque flowers - gorgeous.
I wish you safe steps.
