Monte Brentoni

For some time I had this thread messed up, everything still doesn't work, but since conditions haven't changed since then, maybe it'll come in handy for someone as an idea for a nice tour, I'll describe briefly. With Rafkot on July 21 we drove up Pesarina valley to Casera Razzo, across this idyllic plateau past Del Fabro hut, right to the spot where road descends to Piava and various Cadore places. We parked in first bend, then on road closed to public traffic to wide pastures under Brentoni, a while even downhill, then up nice trail. We crossed almost entire south face, then turned uphill, still more or less on grass. At some rock (cairn) we turned right and followed cairns, no other marks. Across south face with I-degree climbing we reached summit. Slightly harder in summit part. For summer weather view wasn't great, mists appeared soon. We descended west path, which I walked years ago, summit part, gully or traverse is harder (II spot) than our ascent path, no major issues below. On green meadows with cows there were whole fields of arnica and gentians. Recommend to experienced, no protection. Nice also trip down to Digo di Cadore and up to Cima Sappada.

Given "encouraging" weather forecast we set out on shorter tour on Friday. After initial gravel section starts first part of searching for passage through muddy bog, followed by another slightly longer same muddy area at next pass. From there nice path through pastures and mountain meadows dotted with flowers. To the left view constantly draws to Antelao. When path enters rocks need to grab here and there but nothing demanding to ridge where you peek toward Sappada and Sexten Dolomites to the left. Summit pyramid reachable via fairly steep rugged gully length ca 200m so suddenly at top. In short; relatively short and demanding tour far (145km) from border.

Wished for cheese at Razzo pasture so jumped to this nice summit too. Regards!

On Sunday (24.8) again to Monte Brentoni. First part of path muddy on some sections, ascent over south wall and descent via SW gully where new pitons hammered.

I am afraid they will install a via ferrata cable.

On 4.9. we ascended south ridge and descended SW gully. Along entire gully length they installed cable (ca 100m), so now this path section much easier.

Today nice day for ascent to this peak; up via south wall. Junction of poorly visible trail right at larger boulder, nicely visible on return-picture. Change vs previous posts is that this access besides mentioned cairns now also marked (red blotches).
Descended SW gully, which sadly lost some appeal with steel cable installation zavijanje z očmi

Up the southern slope and down the secured gully. From the boulder where the path turns to the southern slopes to the top such pleasant scrambling that one wishes at least twice as much. Lounging on top magnificent and relaxing, snack appropriately abundant with some small sweets. Started at such a time to do the ascent and lounging solo in solitude, no complaint about the crowd on descent, met only two groups, first even with dog, right below summit. Another of those tours etched in a special place among memories, deep in the heart nasmeh
