When you go to a 4000er and a 3000er the day before, just something extra because you're already in those parts... but the route is actually much more demanding. Technically and fitness-wise. 
From Rous there is a very nice view of the surrounding peaks, including Matterhorn, Breithorn massif and Monte Rosa.
Instead of a distinct summit, it ends with a vast plateau, and the cross is placed on the lower part of the plateau.
