Martuljek Waterfalls

Full of nice expectations, I set off on Tuesday to see the Cold Waters or as the locals call them Mahovje. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. I hope it gets sorted soon.

... Lower Martuljek Waterfall and Mama Linden and seven daughters... was our yesterday's trip with Ira. Nice path through the gorge, metal steps not best for bigger kids. Those little ones we can carry. Also the linden family before Finžgar chapel is interesting. Nice, short trip.. nasmeh

...Mahovje - Spring at Mrzle Vode... Searching for Mahovje and enjoying the path was our trip. Beautiful is this Mahovje, when they remove the trunks of fallen trees from the waterfalls it will be a real forest fairy tale.... nasmeh

A bit of everything, up to the bivouac under Špik there's still plenty of snow. Mahovje is wonderful, full of water. Approach currently safer from the path to Upper M. waterfall. Lower M. waterfall is great, water sprays everywhere. The little path above it is torn up, wet, bridges ok. Wonderful is Martuljek wilderness. nasmeh

We and the better half concluded our May Day "cruising" with a visit to both Martuljek waterfalls. Both waterfalls quite watery, path above first waterfall wet and muddy, caution needed. Just before descent to upper waterfall crossing snow field, snow soft, careful as it sinks. Wonderful half-day tour. nasmeh

Yesterday we wandered around these nice spots, paths normally passable to the upper waterfall. At the end also to KG for dessert at Bor's nasmeh

We went to Gozd Martuljek, mainly so the youngest could cycle independently as much as possible.
One day we headed to Martuljek Waterfalls, path normally passable and well marked and secured, no crowd at upper waterfall of course, since most go only to the little bridge below it.
Spent a nice day by the water and in forest shade, of course followed by obligatory daily swim nasmeh

Couldn't miss seeing the Martuljek Waterfalls too, we said after walking to Mala Mojstrovka and went. We made a circular path starting in the stream gorge. At the start there's a sign recommending helmet use and we did, soon realizing we were the only ones with helmets. Path nicely routed along steep wooded and rocky slope and you never know what might come flying from above.
In the gorge on the widened part there are already many cairns and more each time. Interesting and nice. Both first and second waterfall have lots of water so the walk viewing them is even nicer.
At upper waterfall also recommend parents secure (tie) their kids for better feeling and safety for them and themselves.

Path to upper waterfall still officially closed, otherwise bp, except damaged bridge at second waterfall. Still lots of visitors, pleasant refreshment in this heat.

Does anyone know where in Martuljek you can park for the waterfalls or higher up.
At old Špik everything reserved for hotel guests.
Kranjska Gora municipality introduced parking fees almost everywhere. Fine, if they really think it'll make order. Or at least successfully drive away visitors.
For waterfalls and rest (Jasenje, Za Ak, under Špik...) seems nothing planned - unless you risk and drive into forest.

Last time I turned right before the bridge (from Jesenice direction), there were lots of parking spots really. Then you just walk a couple of hundred meters more.

A while ago vehicles were parked at the start or junction where the path to bivouac behind Ak branches off. Where does this road go?

After a long time visiting Martuljek Waterfalls. The path is OK, near the first waterfall and a bit above it lots of water on the path, streams flowing everywhere over the path, to the second waterfall just a bit damp and slippery. Very careful those last few meters of ascent along the cable under the second waterfall, the rock is worn and wet. Lp

21.8. Hikers from DU Javornik Koroška Bela took the path to the Lower waterfall. Continued to Jasenje and past Mama lipa and seven daughters to Finžgar chapel and Monument to mountain accident victims. We also stopped at Ingot's log cabin. To me the most interesting part was the return to the start. From the log cabin along the right side of the fence and past Lipovčeva hut. Through the forest to the monument of partisan alpinist Miran Cizl. Then descent down a very steep path through thicket to the bottom. At the start some via ferrata bits, super. nasmeh

Afternoon after work, trail start from AP Gozd Martuljek. Lots of water, flowing and gurgling from countless springs along the path. Trail OK, but mostly wet and muddy, slippery in some parts. Few people, late hour, back to Gozd Martuljek as dusk was falling. Lp
