Hello, I know this topic doesn't fit best here,..:S I'm a biology student and lately I've been dealing a lot with Marmots. I'd be glad if anyone who's been in the hills recently and noticed marmots lets me know. Namely, it's hard to check all areas.... If possible, I'd need the location where you spotted the animal at this time, altitude and aspect. Thanks in advance. Aljoša

Quite a few live right near Vodnik hut. I've also seen quite a few around Kriški podi.

I think matajur was asking "at this time". Yeah, they're slowly waking up, a few days ago I saw them in Valentinova valley, but I'm sure they've peeked out also in Zgornja Krma under the shepherd's, and under the saddle Čez dol, also in the valley of the 7 lakes probably some have already jumped out of the snow, and at Mangart saddle, anyway, no need to list, around here they've spread a lot and are practically almost all over the Julians. Anyway, the easiest to observe them is on planina Pecol under Montaž, which is already completely snow-free at this time.
