Mala, Velika, and Zadnja Mojstrovka

From Vršič to Velika Mojstrovka on good steps, tracks. A bit of wind all along, snow not sun-exposed. Met two more on summit just heading back. Waited a bit for sunset, then quick descent.

Yesterday to Šitna glava, all Mojstrovkas and Suhi vrh, paths bp, Vršič of course bursting at the seams.

Yesterday I parked at almost full Vršič and headed to Šitna glava. From there along small ridge to Hanzova path and on it to Mala Mojstrovka. On this part of Hanzova there was some snow, which only slightly increased the difficulty. Met two people on Hanzova, only about five at top.
Continued along ridge to Zadnja Mojstrovka. Due to nice weather and good visibility had great views on ridge path. Met another ten hikers.
From Zadnja Mojstrovka descended back to saddle, there found path to screes. Path loses way somewhat but easy to follow (helped by quite a few cairns). One spot felt slightly unpleasant.
On scree followed cairns between boulders and through them to scree on other side and marked path over Grebenec. Huge number of cairns through boulders, but still spots where neighboring cairns not close and no trodden path, so had to stop and search next cairn often. Though this descent surely faster than back along ridge (from Zadnja Mojstrovka to Vratca took me one hour and ten minutes, and really wasn't fast), path through boulders dragged. Next time prefer back along ridge too (unless wanting Suhi vrh).
As far as I saw on way back, only Koča na gozdu open, but so full no table available.

Today goal was Mala Mojstrovka with possible addition of Velika Mojstrovka, but ended up even more 
Road to Vršič BP. Start at 8am, up normal route over Vratca. To Vratca went directly shortest path, but there lower part sank most. Of course less if following predecessors' tracks who went down. Should have gone up marked summer trail. When it joins, then to top of Vratca trodden path and much easier, though still slightly sinking.
At saddle no wind, yay. From Vratca onwards 180° base change - morning around 9am icy and hard. Say ice crust ca 5cm, but really held like concrete. Crampons gripped well and uphill walking relief after today's puffing and sinking up to Vratca.
Roof of MM windblown on many parts, need to watch where to turn, but great snow all way to top - as sun rises snow cover softens of course.
On east approach to top of Velika Mojstrovka snow soft. Good tracks to top. While ascending tested base off tracks not OK, sank and slid. Without tracks would surely turn back. With tracks no panic.
At top VM teamed up with very experienced mountaineer and continued together along ridge to Zadnja Mojstrovka. Two more went there ahead. Here emphasize I'm beginner in winter mountaineering and surely wouldn't do this part alone. Current conditions there absolutely NOT for beginners! Snow whole ridge from Velika Mojstrovka on unprocessed and loose, sinks to rocks, plus in such conditions few tricky exposed passages where need to grab rocks, can't fully trust snow. Admit they were beyond my comfort zone. But with guidance and fresh tracks of three ahead, manageable nicely. Definitely missed second ice axe on passages, esp. descents. Overall great experience, very grateful. Learned a lot today.
Didn't descend to Vratca from Zadnja Mojstrovka cos too demanding due loose snow. Went back along ridge, detour down from ridge west just below Velika Mojstrovka. Unlike summit ascent from east to VM with fairly unprocessed snow, here snow exceptional. Processed. For down sank up to 5cm, just right for descent. Many places none. Also great for up.
Descent to start no issues. Where morning above Vratca fully icy, by afternoon softened, just right for down.
Whole day no wind, only on summits and ridge breezy, but not too much.
At end practiced ice axe arrest above Vršič.
Bottom line, great day offering nice weather, loads mountaineering pleasures, good company, full range snow bases and chance fairly safe push own limits.
