Tone, probably true; hope I already have some of them "in the bag". It'll be interesting if you "reveal" them heremežikanje

eek if comparing higher Kanin peaks by difficulty on usual-normal accesses, probably the most difficult to access is Črni Vogel (2422 m) between Laška Planja and M. Kanin.

Ascent to Lopa (2406 m) via eastern ridge is now marked with red dots (like Italians do it), by my today's view quite logical and nicely followable, both up and down on descent. No bypasses needed.

Two shorter more demanding spots (one right at entry to ridge above notch and second in second half before reaching summit ridge) require climbing difficulty I. and no more, if sticking to suggested route. Both spots have driven piton and rope loop for protection, if needed for less experienced.

Also scree/gravel on ridge isn't excessively much, but lots of cairns "smartly" placed along the whole path. velik nasmeh

Lopa has on top almost always locals (curious chamois), and they are the most dangerous to trigger some stone downhill sometime.mrk pogled

Interesting pathless peak is Lopa. And we didn't even plan it this year. But once you go to those areas it pulls you back. So that the tour wouldn't be too long now when days are shorter we decide for ascent from Italian side. Sella Neveja. And to Prevala. Further we didn't know the path. Nada had description from Planinski vestnik. Marjan some photos right from here hribi.net. We were a bit worried that afternoon shower might come. But it didn't. Weather very nice. Not even cold. And we met no one. To entry into climbing part nice visible path. For quite some time walking on scree. Then into wall, where cairns and red dots really help. Need to be careful. Especially on descent, because quite some scree on path. Descended by ascent path. 16.9.2020.

19.9.2020/Lopa/Monte Leupa/Normal approach to Lopa summit goes from east on uninsured path marked with cairns. Ascent from cirque goes on south side where on west side we cross to north Italian side over long scree we reach east side of Lopa where the real more demanding part of ascent starts. Today's ascent started above station B, through Krnica valley to Prevala, cross to north side and over long scree to notch on east side of Lopa, where more demanding uninsured path starts. Whenever I go alone to mountains I choose some such less visited uninsured mountain. Today it was like that too and I hoped to be alone on top, so it was for about half hour, then two enthusiastic hikers from Cerkno arrived/Ana and Viktor Adamič. On summit alone usually I stay one hour but with today's nice company with relaxed and interesting chat more than 2 hours passed like nothing. After received call better half reminds me I'm already more than two hours on top I say goodbye to nice company and gas to valley,, from further ridge exploration hot weather and too much burned time on summit deters me so I return by ascent path. After arriving home kids drag me still to small peak under Mangart for sunset.

Today, 16 October on nice autumn day from saddle Na Žlebeh along mulatiera to junction. That loop to upper cable car station seemed a bit unnecessary to me, so I shortened it. Over grass and between boulders to path leading to saddle. From there predecessors described everything. Very nice, panoramic peak.. even chamois like it there.nasmeh Back same .. a bit shortcut past birches, of which there are plenty here..velik nasmeh

Yesterday a bit before eight I park above the village of Plužna and head into the slope. Along the nice mulattiera I ascend to the Krnica pasture. I continue towards Prevala. While hiking I think: Prestreljenik or Lopa? I choose the latter, since I haven't been on it in winter yet. Somewhere at 1500m from the Krnica valley I turn right up towards the southern slopes of Lopa. Lower the snow holds well, above 2000m it's already well sun-affected so I pull a nice track. At the start a fiddly crossing awaits me, higher it goes better and I'm quickly on the ridge. I know the hardest part follows. The situation is worsened by snow conditions, as there's some crappy crust on top at the summit, below the snow is dry and unprocessed. Somehow I push through the steep step and continue along the ridge to the top. I treat myself to a short break and watch two guys skiing from Prestreljenik. I don't dawdle too much, as the sun is doing its work. Carefully I descend the ascent route then turn to the Italian side and traverse in the shade of the north face towards Prevala. Here I have lunch, though it's not very pleasant, cold and some northerly wind. I'm the only walker among skiers.
After lunch I descend back into the Krnica valley. The snow is firm and allows quick descent. A little above the pasture I catch the sun again. At the pasture I meet two local women, chat a bit with them. They say they haven't had snow in the valley for years. I was quite shocked. When the sun sets behind the mountain, I descend along the comfortable mulattiera back to the car.
It was a nice day in the mountains.
This time's goal - first time in the snow1

Lopa/ this beautiful neglected independent single beauty, whoever knows her knows what I mean. Today out of curiosity I start from Nevje, and it completely thrilled me. Soon after the path to Prevala branches, at the first cairn on the left I leave the marked path and go my own way. Soon I notice some cairns and realize they serve the cavers under Lopa. A bit higher I see Czech cavers' camp and 100 meters higher also Laški cavers' camp. I get back on the little path leading to Lopa a few meters before the entry to the difficult part of the path to the summit. At the top only I and a couple of flies that eagerly fight over my sweat, when it dries I remain alone in idyllic almost unreal silence and beauty for a whole hour and a half. I descend also by my logical judgment near kuclja punta medon/prevalski kuntar I leave the path to Prevala and via scree reach the marked path to Nevje.

Lopa from Možnica! Sounds crazy, but no. This is not a feat it's a desire that simmered in me for a decade, the day comes when you say to yourself, hey old man what are you waiting for? Time flies, now or never.. True the experience on this hike is crazy. At 7am he drops me off at the starting point for Jerebica and it began. First along the marked for Jerebica then along the path that is no path, now it appears and suddenly disappears, you climb and descend but you look and don't know. All cliffs, jumps, boulders gravel, steep grass, gullies you don't know which to choose, canyons torrents, but all that is the charm and pleasure of this ascent. It added up to more than 25km and almost 2000m elevation met only three people and that says it all about this pathless tour. Rebirth you experience if and when you reach the saddle over Brežič. Follows carefree wandering along the Italian marked path to Sella Robon. I continue towards Prevala but I wouldn't be me if I didn't get tired of markings. At the first stop and snack I turn up under Hudi and ugly peak and push through pathless world full of karst holes, scarps, bridges, cliffs, practically the path runs among thousand caves. Descend to Prevala and via Krnica and Kanin mulattiera to Bovec.
The right route1

Beautiful areas, really wild. If in the valley headwall or a bit higher you turn in another direction, you reach under Črnelske, nice and demanding approach to them. Korita or somewhere there is a nice ski tour descent, how nice, fairy-tale, from Prevala down under Lopa and over a couple more demanding spots/passages to Možnica.
Bravo and thx for the great idea for the next dry season nasmeh
