Yesterday on Lipnik and Srednja špica.
I planned to visit them last week when I went to Javoršček, but ran out of time. But no problem, had reason to come back. Just chose different start this time - started by main road between Bovec and Trenta, bit before turnoff to Lepena. From there first cross hanging bridge over Soča then soon turn right uphill. Climb to less visible junction where turn left to planina Zaslapi (right goes Bulfon weg which I return later). On planina some buildings and also cargo cableway (on concrete bases metal structure marked 2020). From planina head up Primus weg. Didn't find real start right away, so went a bit my way and joined visible trail higher up, easy to follow. From end of forest border around 1500m the trail starts fading, but summit visible so go by feel. Great view from top and no wind. After break start descent and continue to Srednja špica which I also climb pathless. Then descend to saddle between špica and Hudi vrh then continue descent other side of ridge to planina Golobar. From Golobar turn to Bulfon weg and down valley. Part of path in dark with headlamp.
Both wegs traceable, currently lots of fallen leaves so watch slip hazard, especially since slopes very steep in places and unstable step can lead to sliding down. From winter gear used ice axe up where snow. Met no one (except chamois) and would be surprised to see anyone as few wander these parts.

Huts at Planina Zaslapi. Left in the back the ridge from Kaludra to Babe, the sun shines above Debeljak, right next to it Veliki Lemež.

I reach the end of the forest border, where the view towards Lipnik opens. From here the trail gets lost.

At the top of Lipnik. In the background in the middle Krnčica stands out most, right next to it Krn.

6.6.2024. Wanted to go earlier but weather not nice at all. Past planina Golobar the path known to us. Interested in path from Lepena. Old military Primus Weg. Didn't know condition. Had to cross one snow patch. If used to pathless no special problems. Aim was to see where once first defensive line of Austro-Hungarian army ran. With navigation did the tour. Without rushing. Took time for break on summit. Descended back via Buflon Weg. Over Kozji breg which we explored last year. Paths demanding fitness as predecessor wrote. Skipped Srednja špica. Though close. On Kozji breg found anti-aircraft gun position we searched last year. And remains of cableway they used then. Met no one. Except friendly forester on path. Under Lipnik summit white-headed eagles flew over us. On top all kinds of clouds. But no rain. Tour quite long. Twelve hours with all stops. 16 km and 1480m ascent.

after hours of walking you feel that pleasant fatigue.

Today from Podklanc via Buflon weg past the cross at Golobar to Lipnik, Srednja špica and also Hudi vrh.
On the way up I used GPS aids a couple of times, mostly the mulatjere are easy to follow. The path from Podklanc to Kozji rob is narrow in places and if wet in that steepness caution is needed.
Above Srednja špica a hawk flew over me a couple of times…
Even if summits under 2000m the tour is quite worthwhile. Mine said 19 km, 1700m asc, 8.5 hrs. Nice lonely areas...
