Lanževica, Bogatin, Mahavšček

All three peaks aren't combined in one thread yet, but if the admin thinks it's unnecessary, please move it.
----------
Start 6.30 at Savica and no one anywhere. The path to Lanževica past Bogatinsko sedlo is passable without winter gear. A couple of snow patches don't pose problems. At the top at 9.45 and stay until 10.00, at 11.00 I'm on Bogatin. To Bogatin I went from the saddle a bit my own way, then along the ridge, because there's a snow patch in the middle. I had my ice axe ready, but I just lightly touched the ground with it. So, the path is passable without winter gear, a bit of caution below the summit, and it's fine. Only here I spot the first people - a group of hikers climbing to Bogatinsko sedlo. I continue towards Mahavšček, before the summit I experiment a bit with tea and snow. I ran out of water, the path was still long, so I put snow in the tea to at least increase the quantity a bit zadrega. On Mahavšček at 11.30. Around 12.00 I descended towards Komna via pl. Govnjač and that's when the real trouble started jezen. On the way from Mahavšček to the pasture, it alternates dry path - snowy path, need to cross a couple of snow patches without safe runout and ice axe is needed. I had crampons too, but descended only with ice axe. But that was ok. Above pl. Govnjač there's one path to the pasture right (shortcut) and one left (all around). And of course I miss the shortcut and crawl along that all-around path. It's marked but not maintained and I was already completely covered in dust here, and the ice axe kept getting stuck in the brush nonstop. I was dreaming of water and coke from Mahavšček onwards. Well, anyway I somehow get out of that overgrown path onto the pasture and I remember from the last trip with Bogatin and Mahavšček, when we hiked with my colleague, that from the pasture to Komna it's about 30 minutes. Motivation naturally rises, of course jezen while thinking about the detour (I told myself, I have to think about something else, not just water, because I was already thirsty as ...) I miss the direct turnoff to Komna and go nicely towards Vogel. And I walk and walk and after about 15 minutes I see the path doesn't turn (as much as you can see out of that brush, when you see only green in front of you anyway, and sky up eek). Never mind, on the map I see the next turnoff is in a bit, the path to the turnoff overgrown with brush, and I was already doubly dusty, and now I have resin on my pants too. Well, at the turnoff I meet two ladies as if arranged, who went a bit around and were also returning to Komna. But what do I see written on the sign - Komna 3/4 hour. eekeekeek Well, that path then real jungle jezenjezenjezen and whoever knows me knows that in the mountains I hate most having to push through some jungles. Brush doesn't get on my nerves that much, as much as plants constantly touching me or me them. Please, don't anyone get mad at this again, I like fast, decisive walking on a cleared path, not that crawling and climbing under and over vegetation - I really don't like that. Importantly, it wasn't 3/4 hour, but I was at the bar at 14.00 with water and Coca-Cola, because otherwise in summer I don't stop at huts. We chatted a bit more with the ladies, and I was at the car at 15.25. Those two involuntary detours took me surely 45 min to 1 hour. Well, we keep learning something all the time.
Nice trip, repeat the circular path with ice axe and paying attention to all turnoffs that I didn't eek, Lanževica extends the path by on average 2 hours.

Almost identical path (without Lanževica also with that shortcut, if we mean the same) I did two years ago but already in June, when on the return between Mahavšček and pl. Govnjač I had only some snow patches that didn't require winter gear.

Hi. Nice path, but if I went again, I'd go to Mahavšček past B. sedlo and back the same way. Quite a lot of greenery I shredded today.
My colleague and I did the tour Savica-Komna-B.sedlo-Bogatin-Mahavšček-Govnjač-Komna-Savica a couple of years ago, and we also descended directly to Govnjač and the short one to Komna, but today I extended it quite a bit - involuntarily.
Pictures from phone.

This time due to fully booked huts near Triglav we decide for something much lower, but still nice. For the mountains where the golden-horned chamois once rulednasmeh, and where treasure is supposed to be hidden. It hides in natural beauties and wonderful views that hide if we climb to peaks that lie just a few meters above the magical 2000mežikanje.

We start a bit before 8h in front of the hut at Savica. Full parking lot and many visitors clearly tell us that the visit to these ends will be quite crowdedeek. Yes, from here we can go not only towards Triglav, but also to some much lower peaks...that also enchantnasmeh. The path over Komarča is super...quite varied, sometimes a bit adrenaline, but above all scenicnasmeh. And not so crowded. Somewhere in the middle the sun finally appearsnasmehmežikanje...which pleasantly warms us with its warm rays. But sometimes you can't help peeking at the gear of some "hikers", especially foreigners. Well, and sometimes you really wonder, what are some doing hereeekzmeden. Dressed in jeans and shod in something between sneakers and hiking boots. Well, everyone answers for themselves. Above Komarča follows the first real "serious" stop. We gather new strength, look around a bit and especially summarize first impressions. At Black Lake there are quite a few visitors-also a younger priest with a group of hikers performing mass. It's a bit cooler here, but still nice. We enjoy a good hour, then towards Dom na Komni. The path drags quite a biteekmrk pogled and occasionally opens nice views towards Lower Bohinj Mountains. Then finally the hut...we decide to go straight on to Koča pod Bogatinom. At least from outside it looks friendlier than the bigger one at Komnanasmehmežikanje. And also more hospitable. The hut was fully occupied due to a youth camp from Idrija, so couldn't overnight here. Follows ascent to Bogatinsko sedlo, and a bit towards Lanževica. After about 15 min we "turn around" and descend. From the ridge we could see some visitors continuing towards Krn Lakes. The path there is probably quite friendly and scenic. That awaits me in autumn, if the weather favorsmežikanje. We descend in direction of arrival. Quite a few visitors at Dom na Komni, but not so many that one couldn't sleep. Food is super, excellent, buckwheat dumplings with cracklings satisfied my hungernasmehjezikmežikanje. Really, top level. Slept in the upper floor, in nicely arranged rooms...almost a real hotel. We woke up in quite foggy morning. Long time "pondering", whether to continue to Mahavšček or not. And we set off a bit before 8.30nasmeh. Everyone coming from Krn Lakes direction gave info about pleasant sunshine, of which here no signzmedenmrk pogled. At Bogatinsko sedlo a group of 5 Styrians catches up with us. We join them, as all headed to Bogatin and Mahavšček. First steep and a bit exposed path up, then a bit down again, upeek....In short, varied. Then again quite steep all the way to Mahavšček summit....fog still persistsmrk pogled. Obviously no views. Shame. On Mahavšček leisurely...tasty and very extensive snack, above all enjoying good company in lying positionjezikmežikanje. Slowly sun shows here and there, but still fog not overcome. Behind us some more hikers come, so not alone. Follows slow descent towards Govnjač pasture. We hear some marmots, and also had opportunity to observe chamois on one of the peaksnasmehmežikanje. Yes, flowers and all greenery here don't leave you indifferent. Wonderful and truly fairy-tale like. No wonder Zlatorog once roamed heremežikanje. Slowly views open to Velika Špica, Tičarice, Lepa Komna, Lanževica, Bogatin...Only ruins of Austro-Hungarian barracks spoil the idyllic picture of this pasturemrk pogled. But damn, did the military leaders have to stick their nose everywheremrk pogledzmeden??? Follows half-hour "walk" to Dom na Komni, where we say goodbye to the friendly company. And call see you next time. We hurry to the valley, after all those 48 serpentines. Which seem endlesseek. When they end, joy and happiness indescribablenasmeh. Again returning home full of new acquaintances and wonderful impressionsmežikanjenasmeh.
Komna and peaks above it I'll probably visit again this year, as they offer really nice landscape worth visiting. No fabulous treasures that the unfortunate Trent hunter sought up there on Bogatin, but visitors at and on it find many other, more real treasures. Treasures of beauty and exciting experiences that fill heart and soulnasmehmežikanje.

Javorca - hut at Krn lakes past barracks. 18.10. And second day to all four peaks- Lanževica, Bogatin, Mahavšček, Kser and then past another barrack, which I didn't even know existed under Kser along pathless terrain to hunter's hut. There was a path, on which we arrived in pitch darkness to the start. And by god neither yesterday nor today did we meet practically anyone. That we would hike two days we knew. But this tour was planned for some time, but something came in between and finally we managed to hike it. Requires quite some fitness and knowledge of off-trail hiking. And an interesting fact. From pasture at Prodi onwards, further, you cross Tolminka with hand-operated cable car. We three first time. And also first time on all four peaks. Now is such time when there are nice autumn colors in nature. And above all peace.
When you are here for the first time.1
They have it nicely arranged.2
We take a look at the nearby bunker.3
Truly unbelievable what all they built during the war underground.4
Free manual ferry across Tolminko.5
It went really well with the krukula, that's what the transport across Tolminko is called.6
In this season it is really nice.7
I haven't gone along this mulatjera for a huge number of years.8
The weather on Thursday was nicer than forecasted.9
We look at those old structures, now everything is decaying.10
It's hard to believe what large buildings they built back then.11
And not just one.12
The day is slowly bidding farewell.13
We go to sleep in the bivouac on Krnskih. This time we slept on soft, not like on the bunks last time in the winter room in Gomiščkovo shelter.14
And we admire the colors of the larches.15
Viewing of barracks, there are really many here. Next day.16
And on Lanževica we had no sun.17
It was also windy especially along the ridges where we walked.18
View back.19
On Kser.20
View of the path traversed.21
Descent to the valley along a path that doesn't exist. But Nada found it.22

Lanževica yesterday end of September. Didn't go exactly as planned. But the tour was nice scenic. And above all long. All-day. In Soča village we turned across the bridge to the sign saying Vas na Skali. There left the car and headed to unknown areas. Haven't hiked here before. Aim was to Oslova škrbina and from there right off-trail along Rapallo border to Lanževica. Descent around the hill over Lepa Komna. This path is marked. Nicely zigzagged through forest. But the higher we went, the more snow there was. Didn't expect so much. At the junction we decided to go around through the snow. Rapallo path out. And also trampled all the way to the sign where you come from Bohinj side. Trampled by animal hooves. Exactly on the path they went. Then to summit no problems. On summit we weren't alone either. Three ornithologists came. Didn't find the ptarmigan though. They descended to Krn. We decide for same path back. Could shorten when descending from Lanževica, but didn't. Maybe if no snow. Views were nice yesterday. Clear air. Tour you don't forget.
We both knew where we were going.1
view towards Bavški Grintavec.2
had to cross the water.3
in the forest lots of broken trees.4
second junction.5
more and more snow.6
We are going along the path.7
Marks on the rocks are visible.8
And I had stepped into it.9
From animal feet.10
Like in winter.11
Beautiful views of the surrounding peaks.12
When you reach Oslovo škrbina, you have to descend.13
Views14
15
And again in switchbacks up the steep slope.16
Until you are on the ridge.17
Signboard where the walking time to the summit is written.18
Rapalski cairns.19
We had views all the time.20
Only Krnsko pogorje was in the clouds.21
At the summit after a few hours of walking.22
Three more ornithologists.23
Očak in the sun.24
Especially all central Julijci.25
Pity we couldn't go pathless.26
But in snow it's better to go along the path.27
Boundary marker, it is still preserved.28
Some clouds.29
Here only iron and remains are left. Some of them were destroyed.30
At the top it gets cold.31
We will have to descend.32
And at the trough on the descent. We saw it only on the path into the valley.33

That ptarmigan, which was already in summer plumage in June this year under Planja saddle, where you go to Tolmin Kuk, you couldn't miss it, because it was flying around there for a while.
